The Voice-Claim Thread

Weird because mine is Kump.

I don’t have a particular VA in mind for Vakosh. I suppose I’ve imagined that he sounds somewhat like Saurfang from BfA, though a younger and more energetic version.

This came to be after a friend pointed out some (mostly unintentional) similarities between my main RP character and Morrigan.

Someone once told me.
they imagined I had a German accent.
then someone else told me they imagined I had Gandalf’s voice.

Therefore I can conclude that Thuzar sounds like German Gandalf.

After many interactions with other characters while RPing Askari, I often got the comment going in the lines of: “He’s like a loved uncle” or “Stand-in grandfather/uncle”. So I frequently joked that he’s Uncle Iroh from ATLA… And thus came the voice claim of Mako, or as most of us know him, “Uncle Iroh”. Later, the concept grew on me, and people who’ve noted it gave me good feedback about it, so it’s here to stay!

A lot of the voices people claim are usually an unknown to me, and sometimes I go look it up, sometimes not.
It has no bearing on the RP for me but it can be a nice touch to refer to a character sometimes

I tend to use voices used in game and add a slight extra description (sounds like X but a lower pitch). Easier than having to Google whatever in supposed to be hearing.

I don’t really have a specific voice reference for Lintian in mind. I imagine her sounding like a young Tolkien elf; her voice is youthful, calm, melancholic, and heavily aspirated. But I’m yet to hear a character sound exactly how I imagine Lintian.

My favourite Argent Dawn’ism is the fact that in Stormwind alone, you’ll pass 10 different people/characters, different races and whatnot, and they all have the exact same voice IC (“Ryan Gosling is literally me, fr”)

That, and when someone thinks they’re cheeky and lists an extremely iconic VA or reference, but credits them with a hyper-obscure role (as if it’s any different from their mainstream roles, e.g “Laura Bailey from that one ESO companion”)

Im not sure for Vixi. A voice like Gila crosswires do make sense.

My forsaken which I roleplay primarily right now has Areelu Vorlesh from Pathfinder as her voice claim.

My Forsaken’s Voice Ref is Flemeth from the Dragon Age games
Got that nice tone to it that fits a Forsaken I feel.

I am happy enough with the decision I stuck with regarding the voices for my character.

I use my own voice as voice ref for my characters.
That being said, I have very specific voices in mind for them that just can’t be summarized with this or that voice over artist.

I know it’s frowned upon, but for animation projects I’ve tried using AI to produce something to unsatisfactory results.
