Rogue or Mage, or yeah both classes are getting called broken,busted, being god tier etc. every time, every season. Letâs say those people claiming that are right, ok?
Why people donât play rogue that much when its broken like they do with other classes?
A class that is called being broken since almost 20 years, while having access to all races now.
But when something else is broken, like Ret, itâs instantly one of the most played specs in Arena. Same with DH, DK or the most recent example Feral.

Look at the top 5000 3v3 statistics,rogues are on 4th and 5th place (assa/sub), and if we combine all specs its like almost the most played class on arena.
DH btw is way harder to play in duels/outdoor/bgs than rogue with its infinite defs and heals, but not on arena ofc.
Rogue was hard to play when cloak didnât remove bleeds, when vanish broke from literally everything and you was dying from 2 hits. That was in wotlk.
And frost mage is top 3 played ranged spec after SP and Affli.

I guess that topic here is about arena. We donât need to discuss about what is better in a 1v1, that would be a rogue because he can resets the fight every time.
And i donât claim that rogue or mage are bad. I want to know, how a class that is called being broken for almost 20 years isnât played that much like feral now for example.
I never saw rogue being the most played class/spec in all arena brackets. But that is happen with other classes when they are broken. For example feral now, even when you combine all three rogue specs, they are still more feral druids.
Do you remember Shadowlands? Where you had 2-3 Dhs in almost every Solo Shuffle lobby? Or do you played Dragonflight when Ret got reworked and you had lobbies where you had even 4 Rets?
Why does that never happen with rogue? That was my question.

Rogue is second most played class on arena after druid (because of feral obv) if we combine assa and sub stats.
Which bracket?
Because if i look at 3v3, 1800+ on Check-PvP i get a different picture.
Look at 3v3 melee specs distribution.

Number 1 it says feral, with 297.
Number 2 is Warrior, 192 fury + 70 arms = 262
Number 3 is DK, 222 UH + 39 Frost = 261
Number 4 is Rogue, Sub 135, assa 97, outlaw 13 = 245

Anyway even with this stat it is very solid place, and rogue keep such high participation in ladder in EVERY season, not like ferals or dk now when they have one season to shine and 3 other seasons they will be nerfed to the ground.

As i said, i donât do make a claim that rogue or mage is bad. Both are always good in PvP.
I just wanted to point out that rogue is never getting abused that much even when people say everytime this class is broken or easy. I never see them dominating in numbers like Ret did in Dragonflight, DH or for now feral. Feral is Number 1 in 2s, 3s and solo shuffle. Never happen with rogue.
It happened a lot in shadowlands, in cata every second pvp player was rogue or frost mage, there was a ton of memes like video where frost mage was played from steering wheel or gamepad.
You just making subjective statements from what you remember.
Rogue and mage being two heads higher in skill is not the case for a decades already, its just a regular classes now.
Well in terms of numbers from older expansions i didnât found anything beside two videos from venruki (dragonflight), where rogue again wasnât at the top.
Here we wonât will come together. From my view it is still like that, when there are videos/topics about what classes are the hardest to play usually ends up with rogue, and mage being one of the hardest.
Same with comps were usually RMP is called the hardest.
So my whole point here is that rogue or mage would be played way, way more if those classes where that strong and easy like people claim them to be.
Do find those two classes weak? No
Do i would nerf them? absolutely
Frostfire bolt has a cast time.
I personally never played rogue, cos of play-style. I donât enjoy backstabbing character, at least for me rogue is least played class ever, I just once did a lil bit leveling to see rogue skills in action.
