Gehennas and Firemaw have 30k active players per week. That is many times the size of a regular wotlk era realm.

That is an outdated standard from 2008 and doesn’t apply anymore (the same way we can’t compare bread prices now and back in 2008, standards are different). But I can agree with you on that megaservers such as Gehennas and Firemaw are not the only active servers in world. Non-megaservers such as Golemagg, Earthshaker, Mograine, Pyrewood are all very well active by ACTUAL standards. Loking at migration/activity data and responses in threads regarding Thekal, I’d sat that Thekal does not seem to be very active, sadly, but was predictable.

Exactly. In order to achieve it’s activity most servers that are “active” by your “modern” standards are monofaction since the limits of population otherwise would be halved.

Though can you really call it lively if the server needs to spawn multiple copies of the world that can’t interact with themselves on regular basis though? Sorry to break it to you but base structure of WoW leans itself very badly into “modern population”. You’d never be able to finish the quest or gather resources.

I play on 6 different realms and by lively I mean a healthy realm that is populated enough to be able to do anything

Had a guy a few weeks back saying Thekal was “dead” because he couldn’t find people for a World Tour… a 2 hour activity (min.) at 10.00 CET on a Tuesday.

Apperently “to do something” and “living server” requieres people not to have work and being able to set their mornings aside for stuff only relevant to the searcher, or else its a “dead server”.

Thekal is dead, nobody wanted to go BRD this night at 04.30 when my Alt needed a group. I asked 2 (!) times in chat!

Thekal is fine for normal people that can wait 5 min before a activity.

No they do not. Thekal is a large healthy balanced fresh server. If you want to play here you are welcome to start at lvl 1 as everyone else.

Transfers and boosts have ruined every other pvp realm and turned them into mono faction pve servers.

I would gladly join thekal to enjoy wpvp but i know if they will open transfers, it can be monofaction in notime. So better keep it smaller but balanced, even though I don’t play there. I am hoping they will open transfers there in the future, but with restrictions to keep it balanced.

Thekal is more than lively. Stop making it look ‘dead’ when it really isn’t. And there are no GDKP spams. Most people on the server are in established guilds that raid during times they need to and even then there are constant pugs in raid finder. It’s also probably the most balanced server.

If you want a populated server go cry on the over crowded mega realms that you’ll never get on during phase 2 because of the queues

I just started on Thekal earlier this month, I’ve met plenty of other levelers in every zone I’ve been in, I’ve even been doing dungeons for all my dungeon quests as well as turned down some offers from whispers. Now I’m in Northrend and it also seems to have people in Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord leveling. Some say they are new, some aren’t - I’m having tons of fun, but maybe it is dead, I don’t know

no it is not . I have main on Ashbringer and it looks much better than thekal. Dalaran is full of players same as orgri. I think i changed my mind about transfer to thekal because of that. Past 9 PM server becomes empty like how ? just check ashbringer.
