This is for Blizzard about wow

There are so many combinations of inputs you could have on a pad, there is no reason to do it this way. If they stopped trying to squeeze in every single ability from wow’s history into every class to farm nostalgia, we could have more classes like Ret Paladin with 20-24 buttons, that can be easily assigned to a pad. The biggest problem is targetting other players, because you can’t mouseover like in wow, so they would have to figure out a new healing targetting system on controller.

For example they could make it, so you navigate your raid frames as a separate target with your D-Pad to heal, but that’d cause problems for abilities like living flame, as it changes its functionality based on what is targeted

Another option is to restrict specs to platform, and have 1 spec per class that is viable to play on a controller, while the rest is restricted. That’d allow Blizz to select specific healers to be designed for pad, and leave others for PC-only

You should try gw2

Hey, I weighed in on it once, is the delay between changing weapons still there? When I first looked at the game, I saw that abilities were based on what weapons your character equipped, and there were only a few abilities per weapon, so I assumed you should switch between the two, but then I saw that switching weapons itself has about a 10 second cooldown, so you can’t switch between two abilities as smoothly as a druid would switch forms in wow.

You can look up some videos of the builds and how they are played rotationally. You should look at elite specs. There is a cd but it’s fine with it. You have a lot of abilities tbh as you progress.
You also get special abilities too. Elementalist, for example, does not switch weapons in combat but has the most buttons to press

It is indeed a very different game, with other priorities to quality. Has it’s fault, but I totally get what you mean when you say it feels like a different type of passion was put into building the game.
