Threatening about mass-reporting?

Okay let me get some things clear. The item that dropped wasn’t bis, not even close to bis, its from Naxx 10. I mishandled the master-loot because both players were same class and character names started with the same character. It was an honest mistake after a scuffed 2+ hour run. I was extremely tired and just missed the validation text which said “are you sure to assign item to player x”.

I can’t comprehend how you can compare this to drunk-driving and killing a civilian, lmao. It’s more like a small accident after driving for 24 hours straight.

The fact that you just alt f4 insteaf of ensuring the rigthful loot winner that you would open a ticket to get the issue sorted kind of justifies a temporary ban.

We all mess up sometimes but you should own up to it and try to fix it. Not just yeet out of there.

I did not ALT F4 immediately. I requested from the ninja sincerely to trade it to the actual winner. He didn’t.

Still, theres more that could have been done on your part as a ML. At the end of the day, you are responsible as ML that it goes where it should, a risk you take when taking on that task is dealing with support if necessary to get the loot where it belongs, or at least compensare the guy for his time somehow else.

Irrelevant. I did not give it to a friend nor a guildie. It was a random player, with a known guild that got the item. He even quit his guild immediately after ninjaing it. I legitimately don’t understand how this is a bannable offense, on my side?

It is rulebreaking if the rules with loot was stated before the run. So he could get banned for that. But still, harassing someone in game is just not the way to handle it.

Giving the item to the wrong person if lootrules where stated before the run then it is actually the ML that is at fault here.

A lot of ppl are casual with it. But it is also a time thing. Wasting peoples time they will never get back etc etc. But yea, pixels are pixels, still rules to follow however.

You think so? Sure (if OP’s version of the story is what actually happened), it was a mistake and I would not make that person ML again, but I see more fault with the guy intentionally equipping the item, while knowing it was given to him by mistake.

It was a mistake :person_shrugging:
Dunno why people are saying you should get a 1 week ban lol.
Sure, it was your fault that you gave it to the wrong person… but at the same time… what are you meant to do about it exactly? lol.
Just request to never be ML, if you’re not feeling well/tired though.

People take loot way too seriously lmao.

Compensate the guy how exactly?
Give him gold/BoEs?
Mistakes happen.
Doesn’t justify harassment.

I wonder why the one getting the item didnt trade it to the rightfull owner. Even he accidentially got the item, he should have known the item was not intended for him. So HE acted wrong, not the loot master.

Wait, mass report you through discord servers to get you banned in-game?

Anyway, sounds like the equivalent to “My Dad works for Microsoft, he’ll…”

Lootmaster gave the item to the wrong person. It is all on him.

My advice is as follows:

Ignore all the various lunatics in the posts above calling for you to get a week’s ban, accusing you of being a criminal, and generally acting as though you murdered someone, rather than making an honest mistake in a video game - talk about over-reaction and skewed priorities! Sheesh.

Ignore the harasser, simply block him, do not respond to him, but ensure that you have a screenshot of his harassment in case it continues on other alts etc. He doesn’t have 450+ accounts, neither will he report you through ‘discord servers’, that’s pure unadulterated garbage written in the heat of anger. My guess is you’ll never hear another thing about it. He’s clearly just gone into a primal nerd rage, is venting his head off, and if your description is to be believed, the guy sounds unhinged.

Accept that sometimes mistakes happen, even to the best of us. This isn’t some life-and-death drama, it isn’t some a major catastrophe. It’s simply a storm in a teacup over some pixels in a game. Big deal. In a few days’ time it will be completely forgotten about.

Move on, but learn from the experience. In future you’ll be more cautious when it comes to being the Master Looter.

It really isn’t worth getting upset about.

What a bunch of salt responses to a simple mistake?

A ban / week ban for what he says was an honest mistake?! really?!
Do people really take this game too serious on a mentally challenged level?

I sincerely hope that a moderator reads this, takes this into consideration and flags the account(s) trying to flag OP for his / her mistake?

This is a severe abuse of the flagging system and people abusing it should be revoked the rights to make any further attempts at flagging forever!

If it actually was a bannable offense or whatever sanctions there would be against this, then any Blizzard employee could potentially roll back this mistake / abuse of loot distribution.

However this seldomly happened and as far as i’m aware Blizzard has a “that’s your problem” attitude towards these kind of issues.

So please, any GM or moderator on this forum, take note, this should be talked about within developer / operators quarters and be dealt with accordingly!

A mistake in game isnt like breaking the law in real life

Thank you all sincerely for your logical responses. Lesson(s) learned. I agree with most of you, but I can also understand the frustration the guy had. Appreciate it!

None of that makes any difference. You’re a real life pos who “accidentally” gave some guy’s drop to your friend. And then you have the audacity to come here and play the victim. You are shameless and deserve to be banned.

Lol, nerd rage over someone elses mistake in a 15 year old game who u dont even know!
Talk about sweaty no lifers
