There’s three lore characters I used to hate, to the point of wanting them dead.
Now, I just pity them, for what they have become.

1. Sargeras - How the mighty have fallen, from champion of the Pantheon to going insane and becoming the Leader of the Burning Legion perpretator of countless purgings on the Universe.

2. Arthas Menethil - Led by the rage against the undead plague and Mal’Ganis.
Purged Stratholme against Uther and Jaina’s best advices.
Didn’t listened to Muradin when he told him to not grab Froustmourne.
He managed to kill Mal’Ganis, for the price of his father, Uther and all of Lordaeron kingdom lives and many more who followed after …
Becoming the Litch King and evil incarnated.
The irony in his destiny was: had he married Jaina as he should had done, his life would had been much different.

3. Sylvanas Windrunner - Ranger General of Silvermoon.
Sacrificed herself for the people of Silvermoon and her story should had ended there.
Instead she was ressurrected by Arthas and became later on the Banshee Queen of the Forsaken.
Cold, hateful, ruthless and vengeful.
Became the very embodiment, of everything she hated on Arthas.
Converted the Honorable tribalistic Horde of World of Warcraft, that Vol’Jin had managed to salvage after SoO, back on to the Undead faction of Warcraft 3.

I find inspiration on Captain Delaryn Summermoon, regarding this 3 characters:
“I grive for you.”
“You made life your enemie.”
“And that is a war you will never win.”
“You can kill us … but you cannot kill hope.”

That’s just my thoughts.

Three characters I’d like to… Praise!

  1. Khadgar. Don’t care if he ain’t in this expac, I still love him and he is my favourite character.
  2. Gelbin. Not gonna lie, after that Battle of Dazar’alor opening cinematic, I found goblins to be quite interesting. I think he deserves all the praise he can get.
  3. Talanji. Not gonna lie (again), I really like her character after I leveled up through Nazmir with her.

  1. Jaina: Unlikely, but the character has reached the peak of its development, and at this point they are just pumping her to be another sort of Flawless Mary Sue. They are simply escalating her power.
  2. Saurfang: Give this guy his honourable death and make room to new orc characters that rid themselves of the baggage his generation burdened their faction with. Something that should have been kept after Cataclysm, but without downright murdering an entire new batch of young orc heroes in SoO.
  3. Magni: We already have a neutral World Shaman to speak “for the World” and a whole cast of dwarven characters wearing their butts of while he soaks up the spotlight. Thargas, Muradin, Kudran,… Get over with this Speaker thing and return to the same grave they put him in alongside Cairne.

Man, all of you complaining about 3 being too few are sad. 3 is a fine number, and I probably can only think of 5 examples fully anyways.

  1. Sylvanas. Duh; she’s a hypocrite, coward, idealless wretch who abuses the loyalty of everyone around her and readily resorts to despicable lows such as blackmail and manipulation.

  2. Alexstrasza. As interesting I find the dragons to be, this spineless lizard has sat about doing nothing since Cata, despite her sister being murdered in Legion, despite her flight being defiled by the Ebon Blade, and despite the Forsaken continuing to destroy nature and life with Blight across Azeroth. What good is a queen who does nothing but sit around? I’d say she’s just making more eggs, but she can’t even do that anymore.

  3. Vereesa Windrunner. If there’s any Alliance leader who contributes nothing to the story, it’s her. Her only character is hating the Horde, all she does when she shows up is complain about the Horde, and she’s never done anything significant. Alleria has only been back for one expac and is already far more relevant.

(But in my unpopular opinion, Kael’thas had a good ending to his story. Let him rest… He deserves it <3)

  13. Illidan(Without him Kael’thas would still be alive). → Never really liked him, but I hope he stays where he is now…
