O, now you result to name calling and implying that I must have some metal health issues as you can’t think of a valid argument against the points that I made.
You go a step further and try to rally others to take your side of the argument too.
You are a real nice person (sarcasm implied).
Is that what you call it?
I call it scamming people out of gold.
Because the other option people have is to come to these forums and give Blizzard feedback. Which, if people did, then Blizzard would shape the game in line with the feedback.
These forums used to be visited by a lot more players than frequent them today.
Never before have I seen people try to argue on here that boosts should be made a part of the game and that blizzard should implement systems to help people to farm gold from players who can’t play the game so well.
Because you are unable to understand the basic of supply and demand curve. Demand exists so there is supply. Not the other way around. Giving more supply (more boosters) will only make cheaper price.
The same way banning tobacco ads did not remove smokers.
Scamming means I trick him into buying something he doesn’t need. Problem is, I never met the guy, he messages me looking to get a +14 done in time, after he had a horrible experience pugging or because he lost the better part of his evening being declined in LFG by elitists (things that happen to me just as much, don’t worry). I say sure and do it for him. He can obviously find such a service for free by joining a guild, but he wants a boost. So I provide him a service, he pays me for the service. I use the gold to pay the cost of being smashed by Stone Legion Generals progression.
Boosters never go to players and persuade them into buying, the clients come to the boosters. So there is no scam there.
You can’t possibly be serious and blame boosting when it comes to feedback about the game. Lord give me patience. When was feedback listened to?
People hated infinite grinds, it took 4 years to have them removed.
People asked for Covenants to not have Power behind them. Blizzard died on the hill of “MEANINGFUL CHOICE” and 98% of warlocks are Night Fae (clearly for lore/artistic reasons, not power). People wanted conduit system to be free of conduit energy, it is locked behind energy to this day and will continue to be. Feedback is not listened to. It took more than a decade of crying, begging and rioting for Classic Wow to come to existence. You have to be a fool to waste your time, energy and patience to give feedback today, when you can look back at the past decade and see on what deaf ears it goes. Just remember that in patch X.3 the game will be good, so play smth else until then.
No, I understand supply and demand. You don’t understand that when there is no supply that people go somewhere else and make do without it.
Without boosters, people would play the game for themselves and have a good experience from doing so.
That is exactly what you are doing… Nobody needs you to play the game for them, and if they do then they are playing the wrong game.
People should know their limits.
I have a friend from wow who I have met in person. He really struggled to stay alive in any dungeon or raid boss fight. So I helped him, with keybindings and tactics. After a while he was calved out of wood. Then he took a break and when he came back he was struggling again. So he would not join raid groups because he found it too difficult. He went to do some PvP and he is now taking a break from WoW again. He knows his limits. He doesn’t go paying for boosts. He enjoys the parts of the game he plays or else he stops playing.
Yes they do, in chat and in the Group Finder with overbearing amounts of advertisements. Just because you personally don’t go pushing boosts does not mean that other do not.
Just because you personally might not do this, does not mean that others do not do it.
Now who is talking rubbish here?
The legendary power [Madness of the Azj’Aqir] Chaos Bolt increases the damage of Chaos Bolt by 25% and reduces the cast time of Chaos Bolt by 20% for 4 seconds.
This was “for 3 seconds” originally, but it broke the rotation, because if you tried to cast a conflagrate in between 2 chaos bolts then the buff would drop off. So I sent blizzard feedback in the in-game feedback box asking them to change it to 4 seconds. What happened in the very next patch? They changed it to 4 seconds. I am sure that I am not the only person who requested this change.
Are you now going to say that it is pure coincidence and that Blizzard were going to make that change anyway?
Blizzard listen to feedback. They tailor the game based on feedback, when it is valid and useful feedback. So if people are finding the game too difficult, or aspects of the game to be too much of a grind, then those players come to give their feedback, Blizzard will listen.
Where is the pathfinder requirement for flying in this expansion? Hmm? Blizzard listened to the feedback and realised it would be a bad idea, because enough players gave negative feedback about it in BfA to show that it isn’t wanted.
If Blizzard start to listen to Boost Sellers who profit from other players, for lowering their experience of the game, then you can say goodbye to this game because it won’t be around much longer if they do what boosters demand. There will be nothing left to enjoy.
“Pay for someone to play the game for you, or don’t play it at all.” is where that will lead us.
There are two types of players in WoW right now, ones who get boosted and boost others, and ones who work for their own progress and play the game for themselves.
If the boosters have their way, then there will only be people who boost and people who get boosted.
Please remember to not call a plumber, a babysitter, a delivery guy, a maid, or a doctor. You can do all of these by reading a guide on the internet, watching a youtube video or investing time into studying medicine. These people are scamming you, they take your money for services you can make yourself. But hey, if you can’t fix your sink, don’t call a plumber, just acknowledge your limits and make do without a sink. Or if your leg needs treatment, and you can’t do it yourself, just understand your limit and buy a wheelchair, give up the marathon you wanted to participate in, because as much as you wanted to be part of the marathon, you can’t fix your leg by yourself and you won’t be a fool to get scammed by the doctor.
The social justice warrior mindset is fascinating. Thank you Ronjambo for considering all the people who buy boosts some dumb idiots who can’t think for themselves, who lack critical thinking and who are manipulated by others, while you, the wise, see the truth and are willing (Even though nobody asked you to) to start a crusade against the evil service providers.
I understand alright, so stop trolling me, you already insulted me, and i am just about done speaking to you. I don’t appreciate your attitude.
Believe me, if blizzard start to ban boosters, other players will not just stand there kicking and screaming like little children saying “i want my boost, i want my boost!”
The demand will decline. You don’t seem to understand that… or you do understand it but you make too much gold from boosting people so you will just continue to imply that i am the one who is too stupid to understand basic logic.
If boosts are gone, people won’t randomly enjoy doing Torghast, doing M+ pugging, pugging heroic raids endlessly in search for the couple pieces they need in order to finally be seen worthy by the guild they aim for. They will just stop playing wow and go somewhere else. And you sir lost a lot of players who would have wanted to do hard content so badly, but lacked the time/commitment to do the ever increasing list of chores and had no alternative. People who don’t need it, don’t buy it. people who do, buy it. Boosters are for the people who are in need. The demand made boosters appear as a supply. The demand went down heavily in 9.0 on M+, due to M+ gearing being horrible. Even raids were hard to sell, because raid drops were abysmal. Only PvP boosts were sought after due to PvP gearing being the best at the time. This is proof of game design demanding boosting, not boosters creating the demand.
So you are only willing to discuss your very narrow and inane narrative and not listen to others and when pointed out a huge part of the player base were told to “get gud” you bring up some imaginary 3rd part sites making millions which i doubt as blizzard would hand out cease and desist in quick manner .
There are lots of things that could be done to alleviate boosts, remove dumb KSM requirement from valor upgrades would be first step, make M+ bit easier, lets say by 20-30%, lessen the difference of power by item levels, add gear drops from torghast (similar to visions)
The big RMT boosting sites are hosted in countries like Ukraine/Russia and are immune to cease and desists and what not. Blizzard can’t touch them there. Fatboss boosting site is hosted in Ukraine. These people use the youtuber brothers’ name to sell real money boosts and no matter the reports, Blizzard has no power to do anything about it, as the countries involved couldn’t care less about property rights.
Analja, please, we stopped talking reason a couple posts ago. We all understand by now that if boosters are outlawed. Every single “fool” that bought a boost will suddenly do the things he did not want to do, with a burning passion and his love for the game will soar, there will be rivers of feedback and the sub counts will be double the Wotlk levels.
