It’s because blizz do blizz things. They seem to not be able to control themselves. Instead of making slight changes and getting something to a nice point, they like to do a big massive 180 and go the the extreme end of things and then say
“look we did the change, why are you complaining?”
Yeah we ask for changes, but not for you to smash it to pieces, rip parts out, glue it back together with spit and hand it back to us in fragmented parts.
Whats funny is I remember watching Preach play Torghast while it was in the beta. He was doing a run, loving it, praising it and then stopped and said, “blizzard are going to change this, it’s a shame you won’t be able to try what i’m playing now, cause this is really good”. And here we are now, not even 2 months in and people are over it already
Personally Torghast is the reason I finally decided that Shadowlands is not worth playing. I absolutely hate it and feel bad if I skip it. I’d rather play other games.
Or you could realize that your opinion is not the only one on this planet, and what you don’t enjoy, others do. But i guess its too much to expect on these forums.
Oh, no, absolutely, I realize that. That’s why I am not saying that everyone will leave or whatever. Just a significant portion. Yes, that’s just a guess, could be wrong. But we shall see, shan’t we. So, let’s see.
After Horrific Visions and BFA over, I thought it would be a long time before any content Blizzard delivers in the future would make me feel as dreadful… but Blizzard has proven that they could do worse by releasing Torghast in it’s current form (not the form we’ve all seen and loved on streams).
Island Expeditions weren’t bad, it was just the Azerite grind that made it look worse than it actually was.
But these people are not really worth being hold, they don’t add any thing to the game, just complain complain complain that they don’t have full 233 ilvl after 5 minutes.
I already have ilvl 235 legendary and ilvl 209 gear (so no it’s not months for a single piece) , and yes i do enjoy both torghast and unlocking the different options for the vault.
Let’s see if you thought this trough. I am a casual. What do I bring to the game? 2-3 calls of arms per week (you know, those 1k bonus gold and some runes queue as a tank or healer for normal and hc dungeons and lfr) and like 50-100k transactions in AH. Not that much, right? Who cares about that.
Let’s say we have 10M active subscriptions. 1% of those 10M is actually 100k players. 1% is nothing, right? Who cares about that.
And now let’s do the math. 100k casuals x 2.5 call of arms per week in average = 1 M call of arms per month. Groups that no longer happen or they happen with delay. Customer dissatisfaction for all those dps that depend on a tank/healer to apply to their group. 1M groups per month.
100k casuals x 50k weekly transactions in AH x 4 weeks = oh, this is tough, so it’s 100k x 200k how much is it? 20B gold out of the AH in a month?
It only takes a little probe to build an empire. Starcraft. 1 casual leaving is not on issue. 1M call of arms not happening and 20B gold no longer flowing via AH might affect you as well. But again, remove the casuals from the game. It is the best idea that Blizz can come up with.
Yes, I am one of the people that after playing WoW since 2006 and Blizzard Entertainment games since 199x something, since Warcraft 1, I have send an email to Blizzard like 2-3 weeks ago saying that they lost a loyal customer with Shadowlands. Warcraft, Warcraft II, Warcraft III, DotA I (Ice Frog custom map), Starcraft, Vanilla, TBC, WotLK, Cata, MoP and I have an excuse for it BFA are all forgotten by Shadowlands and it will be never again.
When a company from top 500 Forbes forgets the core values that was founded on, forgets what made it great and actively and intentionally takes advantage of addiction, brand loyalty, challenges and mental health issues, when a company intentionally is ignoring and disrespecting their customers, when a company is intentionally promoting shady policies and strategies (rmt, fake advertisement, releasing of unfinished products, design centered around abusive and addiction behavior, toxic communication and behavior encouraged etc) to keep their customer is when I say never again.
You should ask yourself an honest question. How low is the quality of your life and the level of self esteem to defend Blizzard today.
Times change. You shoulden’t be that stuck in the past that you cling to what worked in 1999… They are doing what gives them the most amount of revenue each quarter nowdays.
Wish they’d do more tho, I long for the day when we can buy power, especially loot boxes through the ingame store.
The WoW token —> Booster stuff is just bad, as with the shadowlands item drop rates it’s not really worth even buying boost any more, Would be nice if you could buy castle nathria heroic or Mythic boxes from the store.
It torghast is bad, and unrewarding, what is your point of doing this post?
Just skip it.
At my point of view torghast IS REWARDING,
And this is what make it bad for me.
It s pretty boring and easy (so i dont know how safepoints are gonna help you)(i did layer 8 of torghast at release with arround 180-190 ilvl when it was not nerfed yet at first attempt).
My problem with torghast as i mentioned already, is it s reward.
If i want legendary item (have my character complete), i have to “waste my time” and i put there “” because i mean doing stuff which are unfun.
If i could get decent amount of soulash from for example weekly vault (lets say 1000 soul ash for +10 dungeon for example), i would have no problem with overrewarding (completing your character kit) choreghast.
I am a Mensa member. Do you know what IQ is? You might think you know what it is, but I am doubting and I also doubt that you qualify to pass the test. Is very easy as long as you have above 140 IQ, which only 2% of people in the world have. Unfortunately, you can’t really git gud at it, it is how it is.
So does Mafia, Latin America drug cartels and companies that are using slave labor. Is not an excuse.
They can make their own strategy, but also the customers can make their own choices. And I think is fair to state as customer an opinion about the company or the product on a public forum where other customers can see and make their own mind.
This is how the conversation started.
Don’t you think there is a difference between weighting the company choice of profit is more important than customer satisfaction vs complainers just complain and they should leave?
