Which tells you enough. People don’t want wpvp.
And being ganked by players who enjoying trying to ruin other players’ gaming experience is not fun.
No. It’s dead because it’s not enjoyed by many people.
Because, like it or not, it always boils down to being ganked by some edgy stealth class while you’re busy doing other things. It’s never a fair fight. Ever.
Thing is though; it would just further fragment the playerbase.
They’re already way overdoing it with the different Classic versions and retail. The potential playerbase for all these things just keeps shrinking by giving people every little niche feature they want.
I’m probably in the minority, but I really enjoy the simplest outfits and hope to see more arrive instead of 100000 over the top armors and sparkling stuff (nothing against it, I just feel the game offers a LOT of it)
Give me casual, comfy clothes. Lemme look like an adventurer or a cowboy. I’m eager for more of those Zorro masks to come in different colors, and I also look forward to those beautiful trenchcoats.
These posts all give off “Oh, I feel so edgy because I play WoW and those that would like to customize THEIR characters with cutesy stuff completely bomb my game experience!”-vibes.
Majority of content in this game is grimey, grey, blue, brown or green. There is not much that really appeals to a broader spectrum of players (YES, girls for example also like playing RPGs) and the TP has been my main source for cosmetics that make me feel good about my character.
Considering that some of you like to whine about how “washed out” the game has become I’d say: go farm your edgy cosmetics the MASCULINE, PAINFUL way and let everyone else enjoy their TP purchases.
Most of the tmog that are not available can be counted in our 2 hands (referring to sources, like mage tower, mop challenge modes, elite pvp sets, etc).
But for any kind of fantasy you want, there are tier sets and items that have been added across the years, maybe multiple times.
The only kind of tmogs that are not easily found, are 2 kinds:
Weird tmogs that have no place in the game world (like fairies, witches, etc)
Low fantasy tmogs that seem like toys/pieces of wood
And both of those categories is what exists in the trade post.
The trade post is there to provide extra rewards. If blizzards wants to give a cool looking set themed around blood, or void, or horde/alliance, it makes no sense to give it in the trading post. It makes way more sense to keep the design, and make it a reward for a raid/patch that will have that theme.
Ignoring the terrible way that OP is expressing* in this thread I have to agree with the point that is being brought up.
I’m not really into the current fairy (Ehm Sailor Moon) items and for the ones who liked it must be amazing to find a fair amount of pieces available in-game but I have noticed that in the last few months these items have been regularly posted on the Trading-Post while other types of “style” haven’t been touch as much.
I think Blizz could balance out the type of items that the Trading post offers when in-game events like ‘Love is in the Air’ or ‘Hallow’s End’ are not occurring.
I personally would like to see some kind of ğöřŷ-ẽðġÿ-666 cause that’s what I’m interested in (did I said Edgy?) but also, like other’s have mentioned, casual adventurer stuff or Indiana Jones style, or even some sort of Druidic/Tribal stuff on the months that don’t have big events going on.
Sadly warhammer age of reckoning didn’t last I was playing in a cheap as they come laptop back then that couldn’t handle it. The game had so much potential and the theme was top notch.
The lore of wow has become ridiculous over time, but don’t forget how wow was before.
Have you forgotten how guldan creates the gate of darkness? how arthas committed atrocious crimes (for his people)?
We must not forget that the base of wow players are nerds, who love badass stuff, and that wow is also inspired by warhammer, it’s good to point it out.
Besides, the majority of players prefer badass lore, the success of the expansion and video proves it.
Maybe that will change soon since the woke movement is dying everywhere because it’s just not profitable and it’s driven everyone crazy
and, players don’t only play wow for the lore or the collections, it’s a huge +, but I play for the gameplay and the mm+, raid (and before pvp), which are atypical, no other game offers that.
So the argument, if you don’t like it, play something else is just bad
Well if you google “crests with butterflies” you’ll find that those weren’t as rare as you might think. So indeed there could have been people marching to battle with butterflies on their banners or shields.
Add to that how nobles and knight were fond of colourful ornaments and that through ages pink was a man colour and there you have it - knights with pink ribbons and cloths draped over their armour and steeds with butterflies on their shields could have been more real than you think
I think you are confused bro. This is a game with alot of death, blood and suffering. Red/dark themes untill a few years ago when the lovely agendas got inserted into this game making it all fluffy and pink.
Im not talking about real life since this is a game? Or you have issues seeing the difference?
But it wasn’t all like that and pretending like it was, is disingenuous.
I understand that some players have gravitated more towards the type of stories you just mentioned; dark and gritty. But other players, like myself, did not. They played WoW despite those dark moments because there were always enough fun, upbeat things going on as well.
There’s no proof. And you have no clue how many people prefer it.
Stop pretending as if you know any of that stuff. You really don’t. You’re just making assumptions because it fits your opinions.
It’s not an argument. It’s a suggestion. And that suggestion makes total sense.
If you don’t enjoy a game, it does not make sense that you keep paying for it.
If there’s enough for you to still make it worthwhile, then ignore the suggestion.
Sorry dude, had to be done.
Anyway, as I originally said; I basically agree there should be more variation.
It has been skewed more to the cute and quirky side overal the last number of months.
