They cited transgender issues as reasons for retiring the paid appearance change. The name change must also come under review for the same reasons.

We will have 1 name for each gender when you make ur character you will choose 2 names in shadowlands.
if you wanna change them then you gotta pay

If everybody was free for changing there gender AND name a lot of people would change their names all the timeā¦
And besides, who really wants to name change anyway? It now looks like a major issue but guys pleaseā¦ be happy u have a free gender change if youāre interrested in that.
I can see myself looking through my friendlist and seeing all these name changes all the time. Good thing we have notes

Having a masculine name as a female or visa versa isnāt going to be fun. Deadnames are something many transpeople desire to cast off.

This works as a solution. It stops abuse and means weāre not running around as male orcs with the name Stacy.

I doubt they will do free name change bcoz some obnoxious people will abuse it.
Just give us last name, space, capital letters and numbers in name.

I agree I donāt believe Blizzard will give us free name change, but the option of having two names per character, one for male and another for female and make the game change between both when gender is changed could be an option. That would mean if my character changes to male it will have a male name I choose but if I change bank to femele she will be JadzĆa again, if afte that I change again to male he will have the male name choosen.
A free name change for each character every month wouldnāt hurt anyone.
