I’ve turned to fatalism in this regard. It’s clear now that the player base mostly consists of players who would gladly see this game be turned into retail, with all of its features and conveniences. Every day there are a million threads about people clamoring for features from retail and comparatively little argument against.
Therefore, I’ll say go for it. Might as well not delay the inevitable.
That’s exactly it. Nothing more needs to be said. If you want all of these features when you game I have good news; retail currently has them all, so play there instead.

Nobody needs to argue with you or will argue with you. The reality is you want all these features that were added in retail and you’re trying to funnel all of those features that killed retail in Wotlk and people do not care for it. If another version of the game has all the features you want play there instead. It’s that simple.

These features weren’t added in ‘retail’ this specific one was added in cata, And if you’d read my initial post on this thread you’d see i’m perfectly fine with waiting until cata to get it. Either way, Saying ‘go to retail’ isn’t a gotcha and it isn’t a solution, There’s many reasons people dont want to play retail.
I’ll let you in on a little secret too though you might not like it, The only way for wow classic to end up exactly the same as retail is hashtag nochanges.
Lol? Cataclysm is where the game became “retail” fully. The latter half of WotLK was pre-retail, or more like 3/4 retail.
Y’know i played cata a bit, I dont remember gathering artifact power or having conclave powers or having the talent rework or having 5 billion cooldowns that without my character hits like a wet noodle, But sure cata was retail.
If you don’t want rdf, lfr nor transmog in cata classic then cata is not for you.

Tell me that you don’t have a clue about how Retail is since 10 years ago without telling me you have set a foot in retail in the last 10 years.
You know, Retail hasn’t been frozen in a bubble since Cataclysm launched in 2010. It has changed expansion by expansion and today is totally unrecognizable compared with Cataclysm. There are more differences between Cataclysm and Shadowlands that between WOTLK and Cataclysm. Cataclysm or MOP could not be Classic but are also not Retail.
It was added in Cata so wait for Cata or go to retail. This is the Wotlk forum.

Yeah welcome, we got all the things you like, retail group finder, retail raid mechanics, retail m+ dungeons, retail pvp changes … you will feel here like at home
And with an option in the setting to turn off transmogs from being visible none of these thing would be issues for PvP’rs. And I think it shouldn’t even be enabled when you go into Arena or BG’s. Transmogs would auto turn off for everyone when you enter those.
