And that’s fine, but you shouldn’t go to war dressed as a princess if you want that strong armor.
lol, of course not. I am ugly, dirty and smelly most of the time.
Are you doing gardening in a wedding dress? Same with going to kill a dragon. Transmog makes game look silly.
That’s your problem. Decisions on what to take or not(because of limits of inventory) are part of almost all games. And it is a good thing. I also have a full bank of useless items, holding as a memorabilia or hoping for future use somewhere, and it is my problem too.
Having to look at mismatched transmog sets is one negative for sure. They are often more of an eyesore than the “clown suits” people are forced to wear now.
Also having 3 bloodelfs in slu tmogs and another bloodelf naked, whilst fighting Arthas, just breaks all immersion.
I think people in ugly transmogs a big problem, but I also think all Mages ect looking totally alike is big problem. Makes game boring. Most people do not bother change into finery upon coming to town, not even on RP servers
One big problem here is lack of whole sets and specially lack of cloaks in many colourways - not a problem transmog can solve, maybe a problem for new Seasonal - Season of Nice and Congruent Looks
The only way the Blizz Classic B Team would even consider transmog is if they could milk ur cash out of it by selling cosmetic items in the cash shop.
Addinf it to wrath wont make them no money at all but will cost them money to implement it so you aint getting it until that Cata garbage comes out then u can all run around playing dress up till ur hearts content lol which is about the only thing Cata is any good for.
Blizz havent even added RDF so no way theyre adding transmog. All they care about is milking us for as much money as they can with MTX/goldbuying/boosts.
What in your view counts as “cool and awesome”? Is T7 “cool and awesome”? Or is it only the latest relevant gear that is “cool and awesome”? Everyone is already looking like a power ranger. The difference transmog makes is that we get to choose what type of power ranger we want to look like.
What would you say to a hypothetical transmog toggle then? Since I started playing WoW I’ve always wanted some form of agency over our appearances, and getting transmog would be a huge boon for someone like me to keep playing. If it’s not your thing then simply disable transmogs. I get what I want, you get what you want, and neither one gets any in-game advantage over the other.
To be honest, Transmogrificaiton is far from the best solution. I think it’s a pretty poor system in general, but it is definitely better than the alternative of having no agency whatsoever.
I don’t believe in the argument of visual progression. I think it has merit in vanilla, where copper armor is orange, iron armor is grey and mithril armor is some kind of whiteish green – but that whole charm of progression ended at level 60. You got the OG power ranger suits and then you downgraded in TBC because of gameplay reasons. Then there was no more logical sense to the items’ appearances. It was very random. If you were lucky, your BiS would look cool. If you were unlucky, well, your only alternative was to suck it up. And some liked that, and some don’t (which is why I believe a toggle to be the best of both worlds as it punishes no one). Further more, in WLK many items have the same look. The “Black Blade of the Betrayer” from Arthas himself does not look like a weapon Illidan would wield (it’s not even black). It shares the same model as many other daggers from ICC, it doesn’t even alter in colour.
Exploring better ways to deal with appearances and agency is a moot discussion because it will never happen in WoW. But for the sake of the discussion I’ll mention the dye system in Guild Wars 2 as a huge positive, and I’d love to see something similar in WoW but it ain’t going to happen. And what little I played of Elder Scrolls Online, I actually liked their crafting system where you had cultural armors that had the same stats but different looks, but how far it went with that I cannot comment on as I never reached end game.
This is rich coming from a female draenei named “milk” with an extra k. Projecting much?
Transmog only is sooo 2000 and late. There’s plenty more crap we can cut out from this so called (MMO)RPG, starting with fancy fantasy names and colours, aka items.
Let players design their sets however they want, regardless of class and type, and let bosses drop “Item level”-tokens instead. Have players merging these with their sets instead of reciving items, Im tired of all the names and colours anyway.
Raid 3, Boss 2, drops a 5+ ilvl-token. It hasnt been a RPG in a while anyway, right?
Would fit the population wouldn’t it, seeing there are more bots than players these days.
Are you even for real dude? I’m not even gonna bother arguing with you - aside from the fact that you’re 100% wrong.
At this point they should just make wrath into a fully fledged retail. Most people still playing are either RMT enjoyers or exploiters (people or game, take your pick)
My post has nothing to do with Blizzard. Try reading it with ur head outside of your a$$ and it will become a bit more clear.
Blizzard weren’t the ones making posts about Dual Spec in TBC or Transmog in WOTLK. Infact Blizzard arent making any posts at all.
Oh, and not to be that guy, but the overall population last week on Classic WOTLK according to Ironforge was 300 000. Blizzard claimed they banned 120 000 bot acounts the previous weeks in the Token thread. Between peoples Alts that “up” the total numbers on Ironforge and the bots that dont get banned, I’d say if not more than players then atleast pretty close ^^
Yes, sometimes you have to change copycat t7 that looked sometime better in recolor that original t3 into nice looking T8 into mediocre and shared across armor types recolors of t9 into horrible low res and with some classes strait up ugly t10.
I say it again it is matter of personal taste and transmog should be optional for others to see.
Apparently someone is irritated that he as the begginer wears his mixed up clown like gear, while others have matching pieces and off sets. Wrath developers tried to solve this issue by making all pre tier gear look black, gray, brown and dull in anti contrast to TBC toxic color items, however a transmog was a better solution after all.
There will be Cata and they will try calling it Classic. Big question will anyone play it? I might give it a try, at least untill the end of Firelands patch since I skipped the whole addon, but the real reason I would continue playing is MoP I would defiantly make a break in DS patch thought.
I would only not be against transmog if there were separate controls for my transmog and other players transmog. If I had the option to disable both seeing other people’s transmogs and showing my transmog then any such addition would not affect me and I’d let it go.
Not show your transmog made easy: Don’t do it
The other sounds like good idea. Only I think they tried something like it, and t crashed whole game. I am afraid Blizz will never invest the work and money needed, but I hope to be disappointed in this fear at least
Oh my. You do know that we ran WoW Classic on Legion engine since 2019, then on Shadowlands engine since TBCC and now Wrath Classic is patched to DF version of it? Transmog collections accounting might had run along in background the whole our Classic journey, we just didn’t had a way to browse them, since there is no UI or NPCs to activate it.
