A band of trolls from the city has set out to gather ingredients from the famed and barren Blasted lands. After braving the cliffs from Stranglethorn to get there and surviving rather unfun fungi spores they end up being bamboozled, having to fight their way clear of the fel-grown forest. Surely the naga cannot be worse than that.
Competitions in honour of the foreign loa of the local Amani residents take their toll on the regular trolls of the city but no one can say they are anything other than lively. Soon there will be festivals in the names of the local loa, will these trolls ever stop with their celebrations?
A little snippet of what my character’s going through in our current plot:
Ever since their return from the cave, some of the trolls were affected by a strange curse. The cursed longed uncontrollably for deep water - to dive into the ocean and sink into its mesmerising, dark deeps. For the majority of the trolls dwelling within the city, this meant the occasional dive into Zul’Gurub’s ponds or lake - and the latter spelt grave danger. For within dwells a dangerous hydra, and leaping in without aid could spell a swift and untimely death.
For Sejo, it always started as a tug in the back of his mind, snowballing until it devolved into an all-encompassing urge. And once it did, there was no stopping it - from that point, the strange desire could only be satisfied by leaping into the nearest body of water. It had almost cost Sejo dearly whilst he went about his daily caretaking in the Coil.
Now, he could feel that tug again - but this time, Sejo was armed with Ghabula’s potion. The Gurubashi pulled the little bottle free from the crowd of vials by his belt and took a tiny sip of its contents.
Before the urge could progress any further, the potion took effect - and suddenly, Sejo seemed like he became one of Zanzil’s zombie-like minions. A brain fog washed over his mind, clouding his thoughts and slurring his speech. Temporarily, the Gurubashi no longer responded to his surroundings; his words turned into moans and groans, his movements became uncoordinated and slow, and he could no longer think freely.
But at least he was safe from the watery urges.
With more and more trolls finding themselves with the irresistable urge to submerge themselves in water, some form of actions had to be made. The trolls set out to follow the clues they had gathered throughout the month, and soon found that their targeted location was deep beneath the waves, off of the coast of Stranglethorn.
Cultists were slain and so was a large terrible, spiritual squid - and all life has returned to normal for the trolls in Zul’Gurub. These coming weeks will be spent celebrating and honoring the Gurubashi Loa, starting off with our annual Shirvallah celebrations!
Unsure if it’s still in running busines as I am clueless to Horde side, but push up so the thread doesn’t get locked
It is, thanks for the bump! We just got through a bunch of events in honour of Shirvallah and are soon moving onto other Gurubashi Loa so plenty to do!
We’re currently celebrating Shadra, the Venom Queen, and restoring power to old, abandoned statues dotting the jungle. Feel free to come by in Zul’Gurub if you’re interested in any troll RP!
Shadra is known for Her all-seeing eyes and knowledge of every little secret a troll may hold - and this is something the trolls have revered these past few weeks. Statues strewn across Stranglethorn Vale have long since been abandoned and weathered by the elements, but all have a single eye left - and with a combined effort in the name of Shadra, the trolls have worked on restoring power to these eyes, allowing them to peek through, to make sure that no one is where they shouldn’t be.
The celebration of the Gurubashi Loa continue these coming weeks with Bethekk, Hir’eek and Hethiss awaiting worship. All trolls are welcome in Zul’Gurub!
peers in, sneaks out
After an evening of revelry and games in the name of Hethiss, the Snake Loa, hosted by Tar’ahk and Sejo, the reverence of the Gurubashi Loa has concluded - for now!
Up next is the Zandalari Loa, and due to the city having a lack of religious Zandalari, there is sure to be mischief surrounding the celebration of Them - especially since most of it may fall in the hands of a follower of Jani…
Honoring in the name of the Zandalari Loa have begun! It was kicked off with a brief teaching, offering and game in the name of Pa’ku - where rivaling teams representing Gonk and Pa’ku had to battle it out in a rather rough game of ‘tag’.
Much more mischief is guaranteed as we proceed with more celebrations of the Zandalari Loa!
The trolls are following a line of scheming Goblinoid logic on their way to rescue some ancient crystals and must now survive the 67th quarter bi-annual Goblin Cartel games.
An explosive mess is sure to ensue!
We’d like to congratulate the Darkspear druid Neijahve for being the last one standing - and thus winning - our tournament!
Our trolls take a few days to recover and celebrate the beginning of the new cycle before we kick off our new campaign. A big thanks to everyone who joined or came to visit last year, and we look forward to see what next year will bring us!
I like the idea, is it possible to join you as troll demon hunter (IC) ? I can write some background that would explain it if needed.
The city’s Seer Zun’zhi has been hard at work with the coming of the new cycle, as trolls are eager to find out what the next few months will bring. A vision is not always accurate, however, and some trolls are left with more questions than answers.
