That’s because American foods often contain High-fructose corn syrup rather than using cane sugar like Europe generally does.
Love the music taste and I will send back a https://youtu.be/hiOjK992bPU?si=kSyrEFncf4F9bM79
Lived there for 11 years.
Lets burst some myths about Florida, and some facts as well.
“Its the Sunshine state! It’s always sunny!”
Florida is in the tropics. Which means it rains. A lot.
And when I say rain, I don’t mean a little shower here and there that might leave a few deep puddles.
Try walking through a very sticky, warm wall of water that beats down so hard it can smash glass.
Welcome to Florida.
“Its always so hot and warm!”
False. I lived in Tallahassee(state capitol, approximately 20 miles from border with Georgia and 120 miles east of Alabama) While it got hot in the summer, (highest temp I ever recorded was 145F, 48c) in fall and winter the temps dropped drastically. may a time I woke up to a layer of frost on the ground. And yes. it has snowed.
(People on the old FF discord may recall me getting amused at it and how the traffic in Tally came to a virtual standstill as no one could drive in it.)
“Florida is so hot and dry, and you always see people out”
False. Florida again, is in the tropics and I will say here what I always tell people who ask "how do you get ready for Florida.
“First of all, put your shower on at maximum heat, full blast and leave it running for ten minutes with the door closed. After those ten minutes have passed, open the door, go in and close the door behind you, with your clothes on. Congratulations, welcome to Florida.”
There is a reason Floridians don’t go out very often unless they have to and that reason is every single building that can afford it, has working AC.
Also for visitors, if you’re planning on getting a hire car, the dude or dudette will likely try to hire you a convertible. They do this for two reasons, one to get commission because no one who lives here would ever hire a convertible, and secondly, only tourists want to be seen in a convertible. People in Florida again…
Air conditioning in the car. We laugh at tourists with the convertible with the hood down for about half n hour.
Warm humid air stays warm humid air even with the windows down folks.
"GATORS! GATORS EVERYWHERE!!"
False. Only Southern Florida and exceptionally watery areas have alligators and most if not all are extremely shy of humans. The few times they cross paths are usually alligators leaving a receding water area to move to another. You are more likely to see iguanas from Orlando to Miami than you are to see an alligator.
And yes. Iguana bombs are indeed a thing, especially this time of year. It freezes in Miami as well.
Many a Miami resident has woken to find a huge dent in their car roof and a comatose iguana slumped over the windshield.
"Hurricanes and Tornadoes"
Two options with these. if you can afford it. You leave the area. If you can’t you hunker down and wait for the hurricane to pass. They are not something you actively chase. The last hurricane I lived through cost Florida 28 billion dollars in damage.
Tornadoes you definitely avoid. One ripped through the parking lot of the Home depot I worked at and it destroyed 16 cars and took out 7 shed displays. BIG shed displays.
Next time you complain about a little bit of wind knocking out your umbrella… be grateful.
“Oh they’re food is so sweet and sugary”
False. It depends on what you are eating. If you go eating a box of Dunkin Donuts what did you expect?
However go to a restaurant and order a salad it isn’t going to come topped with a sugar mountain.
Most American food is not sweetened with sugar but with corn syrup so it would be rather awkward if your loaf of bread was swimming in brown sticky molasses when you take it out of the wrapper.
But what American food IS stuffed to the gunnels with are preservatives. That’s why American bread can have a shelf life of a week.
I usually come to Florida twice yearly except during the dark times when Covid chan walked the streets. It’s typically rather good, but it’s been frigid this time around, mainly cause the clothing I brought was a bit worse for wear. I usually buy clothes in the US because they have an excellent range and the deals this time of year are usually 30-50% off and quite good quality.
Best place to get clothes I found was Bass Pro Shop. I used to get fleece lined jeans for wearing during the winter. I still have the par I bought when I first went to the States on my honeymoon, 19 years ago. They have a few holes in them, but they are still very much able to be worn, and I’ve done pretty much everything in them… painting, gardening, dog walking, shooting, hiking…
Best jeans I ever bought.
lol they have the brand on the front page, Redhead!
I recommend buying some lined jeans.
well now you’'ve ruined it for me.
Isn’t there an American salad that’s made with marshmallows and mayonnaise?
They can laugh at Greggs sausage rolls but at least we don’t make filth like that!!
Okay, so there’s two types: Those who play, and those who don’t.
Yeah, I can get behind that. Sounds accurate.
Dont forget snails…although i did have frogs legs last time i was in France, tastes like chicken
Thank you very much
That’s why we have the WoW Council in the US forum. To filter the quality people for feedback out and give them the VIP space they need to discuss in peace with the Devs.
They are taking new applications if anyone is interested
They use corn syrup for their super cheap sugar lacing everything with.
I hear Australia is going to start capping the amount of immigrants moving in each year. Pretty popular destination for young Irish folk here to move across to… Ireland has become far too expensive to live in with the government screwing them over completely.
Far as I remember wow didn’t like these as it’s a third party thing it recognized as hacking or so?
I am confident it works, especially now that they are under Microsoft’s ownership. Companies like Boosteroid have it in their catalogue. You need a Battle Net account linked to it.
I agree with @Tahra
Just because a person don’t run mythics or run raids doesnt mean you don’t care for the game. Nor does it render those persons suggestions invalid
