A sensible thread from Benjamin? Is this the end times? :scream:

But yes. Every option listed would be a very welcome addition. Even if all of it was added, the tree huggers would still have plenty in comparison.

The closest thing to Undead Heritage armor is the Darkshore set. Amazing thing about it is that it also rewards the Night elf set at the same time. So it’s kinda like getting two heritage armors.

I got the Cape, Pants, and gloves that I use on my Belf for a Dark Ranger look

Even tho I switched my mains a few times this year, it’s almost always a Allied race (void elf, Vulpera, and Zandalari) So the lack of customization annoys me.

And Benjamin has a point, even most core races compared to the Male Orcs and Female Night elves feel like they didn’t get much stuff

Forsaken definitely got a raw deal.

Originally they looked like what Hollywood thinks Zombies looked like, so your Caribbean pastiche of Voodoo zombies, They then added the ‘Chinese’ option, which is nice as an -option-.

Is a bit weird though, The Franchise in China just covered up the bones because of cultural Taboo about Skeletons over there, same as your character upon death turns into a gravestone.

This is ironic for two reasons. The ‘Chinese’ model looks nothing like the Chinese legends of Undead! Theirs were absolutely nightmare fuel. The ‘Chinese’ model actually looks like Nordic Undead such as Draugyr, and Anglo-Celtic Undead legends, ‘Deathwalkers’ and such things.

So now they have the option to look like Haitan Zombies, or Western European Undead with the new customisation. They should have taken it both ways, and given an option for even -more- decomposition, Actual Skeletons.

They should have given all three options. Western European Undead, ‘Zombie’ Undead, so the Standard Forsaken model, and Skeletonised Undead. Let people pick their poison.

More customisation would have been good. What about Lilian Voss, she alone has glowing -blue- eyes as opposed to the lambent gold other Forsaken have. Now I know the reason, because I -think- she was described as a ‘Shadow Ascendent’, but surely if Night Elves get the option to have ‘Night Warrior’ eyes, they could have given Forsaken the option to have ‘Shadow Ascendent’ eyes, no? Maybe make them carry out a quest chain to unlock it, as with the ‘Night Warrior’ eyes?

Beards would have been good, so you could go full on ‘Rob Zombie’ look when he was in his stage persona, which would look epic. After all, if they can keep their head hair after death, why not their facial hair?

They definitely should have gotten upright posture. The crouched thing doesn’t even make a hecktonne of sense.

Sure, you could argue that they have atrophied internal organs that bolster the bones the way a normal human has healthy organs that bolster the bones, but…err… They are unnatural and a bit magic, so you can’t really apply real life biology to them…

Quite a few of the races were like that though, everyone went “oooh” and then when they were released they were just…Underwhelming.

Blood Elves get eye colours, which is nice, a few new haircuts, and males got 3 beard options. Apart from that it was ‘meh’, where are our ranger warpaints and feathers, Magi Runic tattoos? The only thing I’ve done is give Brigante a beard, and Tessarin a proper Pixie cut to her hair.

Humans didn’t really get that much either.

Did Goblins even -get- anything?

The Draenei customisations are awful as well.

So much was promised, and so little actually made it into the game.

As Dark Rangers were mentioned, I can see one potential problem, well, two. Firstly they’re all Female (Nathanos is not the same as a Dark Ranger), can you imagine the uproar if all the delicate macho flowers were told they had to play a female? It would make the current Chromie outrage look tame… :stuck_out_tongue:
Secondly, whether you approached it either by making Forsaken able to look like Dark Rangers, or Belfs able to look with Dark Rangers, it still would mean Giving Forsaken a Third Language of Thalassian, or Belf’s a Third Language of Gutterspeak . That would be great for people on RP realms who would not abuse it, but you’d always get some who would.

Also the problem there, is that suddenly two Horde races would be able to speak 3 languages, without any Alliance counterpart equivalent, and then you have poor old Humans and Orcs who can only speak 1.

Not sure how they would get round that, but yeah, Forsaken definitely needed more attention.

Actually, male dark rangers are a thing as of the Darkshore scenario. Just saying. And NE DHs is an alliance option with 3 languages. Yeah, just one, still.

Would be cool. Imagine playing a Grimm repear with full skeleton and black robe.

If only. alleria is my favorite character in the game, and I always found her style to be very amazing especially the elves of Warcraft 2, which is why it’s my favorite genre of Warcraft. Some will say they stole the theme from the Wildhammer, but the Elves always had this theme, some would argue even before we saw them on the Wildhammers. But meh…

There is also a toy that turns you into a male or female Dark Ranger for 10 minutes

That’s rubbish writing then, and a -Mahoosive- Retcon. How do they explain that? Dead Male Elves can’t become Banshees! The lore states they become Spectres, and Spectres lore wise cannot possess people, let alone their own dead bodies!

There is a reason that apparently Blizz staff jokingly refer to them as ‘Manshees’, because the ‘Ban’ in Banshee literally translates as ‘Woman’.
Grumbles 'rabble rabble rabble, cultural appropriation, grrr, I bite my thumb at you Blizzard for twisting our mythology in half-Irish

Wouldn’t be the first time they have done something with plot holes big enough to drive a bus through though, I suppose…

You’re not saying that is rare in this IP are you?

… Are you?
