I have no real overview of how hard KSM is for the mount. But there are like 100 new mounts. 1 for M+ and 1 for the raid. Are the other 98 mounts not enough?
Is it really not allowed to have 1 or 2 challenge mounts in the game? Are people really going to unsub, like is claimed, over that? Really?
These two left in BFA, when classic was released. Eternal Palace was their last raid. I actually liked that place, but I might be biased, since that’s where I found my partner(as I applied to his guild). I did also always look forward to Azshara, since I had been curious about her since vanilla.
You missed the part early on where I said this is partly why I quit. I have had a complete overload IRL, so the insane amount of focus and mental energy required for endgame isn’t with me right now. I love progressing at endgame, but not if I perform like crap because my brain is overloaded before I even log in. So yes, a fix is needed, and I don’t trust them to fix it, but I am happy they are willing to try. Again… I guess? Compare it to our side discussion here, they improved the game for you there, so let them have a shot at it here too. And keep providing feedback.
Maybe a new mechanic for healers where overhealing a friendly target buffs that target in a manner similar to Ebon Might? That way you can continue to spam healing even on full-hp targets and the end result would be more beneficial than dealing damage on your own. Someone else had suggested it here. I am not fond of the idea even though I consider it a “QoL” of sorts.
It’s more relaxing, allows you to absorb the scenery, the music is indeed ambient and not bombastic like it has been since… BFA? It gives you the time to analyze the situation and act while not being faceroll.
It’s like comparing pre-2010 Final Fantasy to post-2010 Final Fantasy. The games in the past was slower in pace, they had turn-based combat, it gave you time to think but they were not facerolls. Post-2010 they are action-packed, the enemies are objectively much more pushovers than in the past, but you don’t have time to think during combat and it strongly tests your reaction time rather than your ability to select the optimal spell for maximum damage.
Do you remember my thread where I mentioned that I’d like the default UI to show when a player would be receiving damage and how much?
I was ridiculed in that thread for having the audacity to request that instead of “using my eyes to avoid damage”.
For a collector/completionist? No. It’s all or nothing. It’s the exact same thing as people being so obsessed with BiS lists and maximum item level for everything and refusing to equip the 1st and 3rd best trinkets but consider only the 1st and 2nd best to be viable options. Our complaints, as completionists, about being denied access to rewards for not acquiring them when they’re current are no different than complaints of people about bad luck from drops and from the Great Vault.
Yeah i am sorry. No simpathy. This is why we can not have nice things.
Like i claimed before. We want everything mailed after the character creation screen. Because people want everything. Why do we even need to level. That is hours of work. Give the mounts, titles and achievements now. We do not want to play the actual game.
Literally 95% of the games stuff is already for the open world player. But no, they NEED or UNSUB when they do not want to play for the KSM mount.
You are exaggerating what we ask.
We didn’t say “Give it to us now”. We didn’t say “Give it to us at the same time as when the first people acquire it”. We didn’t even say “Give it to us when the season ends”.
We say “Do not remove the rewards, do not make them harder to achieve, let us acquire them by brute force many months after they have been superseded by new content, or even years”.
No i don’t. We can not have KSM achievement or mounts just because of completionists. That is your statement.
I reacted on someone who says people are unsubbing because of this.
I am not exaggerating.
Sorry. you can not get KSM of a previous season ![]()
Yes you can. Except the achievement does not get removed at the end of the Season even if it has the “Season” in its title. Just as how thousands of achievements do not get removed already. It’s a literal on/off flag on the Blizzard database.
And that’s what we ask to change. It doesn’t impact your enjoyment. You got the achievement when it was current. You got the mount when it was new. You rode it along with the other 5% that did it while it was current. Why deny 95% who did not earn it then from acquiring it ever and at a later time when you don’t even care about it because you have already moved to a newer mount.
You need to play PVP in the right season to get that seasons achievement ![]()
What is wrong with that?
I mean, give them all to everyone. Then everyone is happy. I wouldnt care at all.
But KSM is an amount of score in a season of M+. The season is over. The score is gone, the dungeons are gone. It is not just a flag. There’s no keystone, etc.
Just like PVP. Play in the right season.
52% right now. 52! That is how special snowflaky sweaty content it is. 52%
52% of total active WoW accounts have KSM? Where can I see that?
Nothing is wrong with that. What is wrong with maintaining the achievement and changing its criteria and rewarding it to people who meet the new non-seasonal criteria after the season has ended?
Of every character that participates it is 50%. This includes idiots like me who starts M+ on 5 chars and has only on 1 char KSM. People who want it they get it.
You can check the 52% yourself on raiderio.
Sure. Give all the achievements and mounts to everyone when the season ended. Not sure why we do not just all have all the legion mage tower stuff either.
It makes no sense. It is an adventure game after all and you get the stuff that you are interested in. But give everything just to everyone. Everyone happy.
I really do not understand why we can not have challenge stuff in this game and rewards. 95%+ is already for the open world player. It is stupidly selfish to also want and demand and otherwise unsub (not my claim!) to get for free the challenging stuff. I am also not complaining i do not have the raid mounts without raiding.
You do have challenging content, and you can also create it where it doesn’t exist. We have high M+. We have Mythic raids, and if even those are not difficult for you, you can always agree with your guild to go in with specific rules to give yourselves an even greater challenge and enjoyment.
And the reward is the feeling of accomplishment for doing it when others do not.
I mean hell, you can go and attempt to solo World Bosses if you want a challenge. I tried duoing the one south of Dornogal with my sibling and we almost failed, at 666 item level both of us.
Of every character recorded. I am not recorded in RaiderIO. I expect that many others aren’t either.
Yeah i get it. People who are having fun in challenging content are only allowed to be rewarded with the “feeling of accomplishment”.
It makes no sense. Go play the content if you want the achievements. I do not get it that is even a discussion.
Why do we even have mounts in the game. Remove them. You can do that too in the open world. When you do 10000 world quests you do not need an achievement. You had fun doing the world quests. Remove the achievement please.
No worries. It goes automatically.
Yeah. The more i think about it. Remove everything. We play for fun. Remove all achievements, mounts, titles and toys. It is about the fun of the game. The feeling of what we have while playing it. We make our own adventure and that gives us all the feelings of accomplisments.
Remove it all!
You can’t believe how wholeheartidly I support this idea.
Neither. All they actually need is step-by-step make some APIs instance or encounter restricted so we could keep whatever we like but some overautomated things(not like mouseover or clickcasting ofc) will be limited or removed and due to that them can make encounters much more doable with only default UI. That’s doesn’t change the foundation as it also does not require them to kill a thing that made wow such loved for decades - ability to customize everything in a way players like it.
Ofc seeing timers for each mechanic or WAs telling which player you need to pair for mechanic or automarkers are too much and that thing should be re:thinked from scratch how to avoid that stuff with taking out possibilities to do so with addons.
Overhealing should either generate a shield. Or the alternative is DPS generates some modifier and/or resource.
The “buff” part… nah… I dislike support. Its not good for WOW.
I do remember. And you are correct.
Did I say otherwise in that thread? If I did say anything else than you are correct then I misinterpreted you somewhere.
Then you have to give something to the people that get those achievements when they were current content.
There has to be a difference between someone grinding the M+ ladder to get KSM vs. someone that shows up there 2 years later and 1-shots everything.
Achievements are supposed to represent the effort you took to accomplish said task. It’s much harder to get when the content is current vs. 2 years after. So the effort it takes is not equivalent.
It’s like money. It represents value. And that value must be equal to everyone otherwise it looses meaning.
Many people, including Blizzard, seem to have made the logical error, that casuals wanted everything to be fast, so nothing takes a long time. Though what I noticed is that WoW’s playerbase has gotten more hardcore and more sweaty, since Blizzard removed all the grinds in Dragonflight.
I wonder why classic works so much better for a casual player base. It’s probably very complex to understand this, and I don’t think there is one simple, clear correlation, which probably makes it annoying, but also very interesting for Blizzard to study. I also don’t think that it’s just nostalgia. There is just something about the game, that works for people it seems, and no clue what it is exactly.
If I had to guess it’s probably this sense of going on a long, epic journey as a nobody adventurer similar to how old JRPGs feel at the beginning.
Does it really lose meaning? How many KSM mounts do you still use?
I got KSL this season, rode the mount for a while, thought it was cool. Now, I already don’t use it, it’s gathering dust in my collections tab.
There has been a similar discussion about Elite PvP sets and the ways they could be obtained retroactively. I’m not someone who supports simply handing out performance rewards but it wouldn’t hurt if there was a way to work for it.
Maybe after you reach KSM on your main and get the current mount, you can then reach KSM on an alt and obtain a “saddle” that allows you to purchase one KSM mount from the past.
I don’t really know how to make the mounts obtainable on a single character due to the way M+ rating works. It probably isn’t what Exiasee would prefer but I wouldn’t mind something like this.
