Even that is pretty optimistic, as theramp up on SoC is mostly QoL and the other thing requires a major glyph slot to use their taunt, without taunting.
Well… if there is a Goal in Smoothing out the poor gameplay of having to build stacks when there is a downtime or target swappings… maybe you should also revisit Rogues and Feral Cats combo point generation. The same can be said about this mechanic from a Quality of Life pov.
Also, the solution is well know, as it was implemented in subsequent updates: Make combo points stack on the caster, instead on the target, so you don’t lose them when having to swap targets, and also add combo point generation to the two AoE abilities (Fan of Knives for Rogues, and Swipe for Cats).
Both changes will have literally zero impact on single target DPS, while making target swaps and AoE scenarios less painful and punishing for those classes…
A few thougts on this:
- The change itself is good, ret was the only underperforming spec (alongside perhaps fury, but they get their first arpen now in uldy) where there is no viable PvE dps alternative. As long as the change is reverted back with the release of ICC patch.
- Blizzard yet again confirming that all their statements about design philosphy and pillars is complete bullcrap, self serving lies made up on the spot to justify doing or not doing what’s convenient at the time.
- With Brian Birmingham gone, and Blizzard apparently willing to go literally 180° on their statements within months, we must redouble our efforts in forcing them to add Random Dungeon Finder for all 5 man content at an earliest date possible.
Can’t wait to see this one cause more problems than before they touched them. In typical Blizztard fashion ofc.

They could buff also Arms or BM, I think its fun if more specs are viable in pve
And blizzard you dont need to only buff their baseline spells
just buff pve set bonuses and It wont affect pvp at all … its safest buff you can make
for example give 4set pve bonus that arms mortal strike increase your physical dmg on target by 5% stacks up 3times
So, how long till we spin into full retail remastered mode crash? New class balance new item changes left and right, new dungeon and raid modes, like early Cata LFR (but no new content of course, because that costs money to produce).
And why no buff for arms warriors? Because we have fury? What if I only have 1 2H since I started and can’t get into groups as arms to get a 2nd 2H? Didn’t think of that did you? They don’t think a lot is my guess.
Seriously, can’t fix bugs, can’t ban bots, no customer support, but always time for unnecessary sh!t like this buff. And everybody knows this buff will create atleast a dozen more bugs thanks to your magnificent spaghetti code.
you can get weapons from the argent tournament now, they should see you into naxx10/25 where you can get better weapons, then uld where you can get even better weapons and they arent unique

Fwiw, this change won’t even need undoing in ICC cause of how it’s made.
We gain access to an extra ability at the cost of a major damage increase to another ability.
Oh and our ramp up time is shorter.

All the buff sums up to Ret’s weapon strike skills applying Vengeance meaning they’ll get to the point faster with the other requiring a Major Slot meaning it will be a tradeoff likely with glyph adding expertise in seal of Vengeance.
More likely with 20% damage on exorcism or Avenging Wrath.
10 flat expertise is still too good to give up.
Don’t most Rets going with the Trio if Judgement, Consecration and Seal of Vengeance/Exorcism for their seals?

What’s that got to do with what I said? I want Blizzard to add a WotLK feature that was both present in a patch we are currently playing (3.3) and is very badly needed due to how (predictably) 5 man scene diminished.
They are willing to make changes, they may as well revert a change they did (removal of RDF).
Terrible change. You guys need to take a note from Jagex and start polling changes to the user base before implementing changes based on crying/whining as that is what originally killed WoW for me.
