I resubbed two days ago to find the game is a mess and blizzard staff being less than helpful.
I wasted 12 hours leveling this character for the heritage armor, Now I cannot get it because I accepted the “Welcome Back” Gift that gave me worse armor than the Heirlooms I already had on at the time.
Opened a ticket and it got closed with a standard response that game masters cannot give me achievements.
We cannot do anything in this game without consulting several forums first to check if its “Safe” to do. Every wrong mouse click might result in hours wasted. this is not fun.
Used the Stormwind reset to send my character back and then levelled to 50 and upon hitting level 50 I wasn’t rewarded with the set.
I believe this is because I used the Gear Update feature, but I didn’t know it would reset the progress, there really was not any warning for it. I was really excited to use the clear quest and update feature to get back into levelling old characters, especially allied race characters, as surely it was intended, but this put a real downer on my day.
I hope this isn’t intended. It doesn’t seem like its in the spirit of what the feature was meant for.
Bugged for me aswell, dinged 50 with my Highmountain Tauren without level boost but i did use the gear update on level 32. When i dinged 50 i didn’t get a quest. I tried relogging, exiting and re-entering the game but nothing worked for me. So if this is not intented i hope it will get fixed soon. But to be safe i’ll wait a bit before going for the other heritage armor sets.
Hello, i am a player from the Argent Dawn Server.
I just leveled up my Nightborn Demonology Warlock - His name is Valkoryon, and i did use the Gear Update on this character when he was level 34.
And i did not saw the quest for the Nightborn Heritage Armor which tells me to return to Suramar.
I even go there, but i do not have any interaction, nor a quest for the armor.
So, yesterday I hit level 50 on my Kul Tiran Druid and didn’t receive the quest. I didn’t boost her, nor change race/faction. However, I used the Gear Update…
This is bugged for me too, Blizzard GMs (who used to be far more involved) said:
After having researched your situation, I verified that there is an issue with the Welcome Back gift being considered a Character Boost which is preventing this Heritage Armor quest from being picked up. We apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused you while our developers fix the issue.
In this case, we ask you to submit a bug report about this issue so that our team can investigate further with you.
The bug report helps the appropriate team be aware of any issue that needs to be fixed, so that you can have an even better gaming experience!
So yea… very much bugged, something that Blizzard needs to rectify as its flagging as a “character boost” and it 100% shouldn’t be as we aren’t gaining levels we are gaining gear due to their mess up with squishing levels.
It should be a relatively easy fix. Given that its a setting where its flagging as a character boost.
I assume that when this is fixed, it will allow all of the characters who have only gained gear and not levels to actually benefit from leveling their characters, rather than being punished for wanting to play their characters again.
This warning was removed when it left PTR and went to Live. As Blizzard never intended it to be classed as a “Character Boost” as you don’t ‘gain’ anything but being able to actually play after their complete mess with level squishing.
The main issue should now be fixed, and shouldn’t happen anymore. If you used the gift before this fix, the developers are still working on fixing these characters (it looks like Bazkhar was successfully fixed).
Please note that game masters cannot manually fix this issue manually.
