If you want a raccoon, you have little choice but make them battle enough to get to max level so they can battle a raccoon

I think what pet battles need right now is a better pvp system. I would love a rated pvp pet battle system. Let each player choose 20 pets, each gets 5 bans and then you fight a best of 5 where every pet that wins a round gets locked so you need to strategize which pets you use when.
Skins for pets and maybe one or two mount would be great. The rest we do have though those spells are toys and I really like my âMinion of Mayhemâ title from the newest pet battle dungeon.

Like you say most of the work is dine anyways with the current pet battle UI wouldnt harm to make an app at all.
Why should anyone play it? Every animal have over 9000 recolors with copy-paste abilities. People have so big menagerie that they could take down Archimonde but only few of them are of usable quality.
Blizzard should add a limit for collecting and allow pets to evolve~ get bigger and cooler.
Maybe they should have random set of abilities that you are discovering by leveling and when you dont like it then you release and start over. Lets say that Undead Battle Pet can roll any of Undead themed abilities while leveling up and that there is a low % chance that Undead will have set of abilities from different family.
We would be picking whatever pet we want and leveling them endlessly to get something unique and cool instead of this boring âgoogle & catchâ meaningless activity. We dont even level pets anymore~ just token them into Max/Rare.
Oh yeah that is definetly what we need. Rng abilitiesâŚ

RNG is part of any game and even more about MMO that is a farming simulator. I would prefer to have a chance for finding legendary over getting it from shop with everyone else (Legion).
You can apply this sentiment to most of the gameâs activities. Or even the game itself. Some people genuinely find it fun. Personally I can stomach it because of the W2 music and as stated above, it was the only way to get a raccoon.

Canât say I have either, though I did get that feeling when I finally saw an Unborn Valâkyr pop up on my minimap.
Of course now that I have one I see them all the time, hmph.
I remember when they first came out, there was probably more people camping itâs spawn points in each northrend zone than all the people camping the TLP and Loque combined⌠I found mine on the cliffs overlooking that battlefield in Icecrown. it was aPoor qulaity but I didnât care I had tonnes of rare stones.

Or going to Lakeshire everday and murder the pet rabbits of a girl standing near the lake. She even gives you money after you kill all three of them
I have Poor quality ones myself. I believe the term now is âbattle petâ, but to me theyâre still âvanityâ pets and thus the quality level is irrelevant.
I only really upgrade the ones I intend on either selling on or battling. I got nearly 900 of 'em and I cant keep up with all of 'em.

Actually blizz lost playerbase when they introduced pet battles. Some people just quit the game with out even trying.
Obviously the OP intends to pet-battle himself in the middle of the night to get easy achievements by win-trading.
Blizzard is fine with win-trading yourself, thoughâŚas long as you pay for an additional account to do so. We all know it.
Edit: Just to clarify: No, i am not seriously accusing the OP to have this intention - that was just fun/sarcasm. Pointing out the possibility to use it in this way was not fun, though. Neither was pointing out Blizzardâs stance on these things.
