I would say that after trying a mask alone as elemental it felt more challenging but still no WAOW feeling. Needs huge improvement in terms of maybe adding a follower, or some extra abilities inside that you can controll on cd.
Only if you do it all which i have personally no interest at all too stressful and i really hate content in any games that makes me run against the clock.
What’s stressful or annoying with the medium zones? The harder two could be more of a problem depending what affix they have. And in previous weeks you needed multiple pages so 2 zones excluding starting one should be cleared for max rewards. Now it will rise to clearing both hard zones. This week I run with the titanic buff and on a healer did a full Orgrimmar clear with one sanity refresh, then re-cleared it with the first mask using all sanity refreshes and the safety refresh.
246 corruption equipped? Cloak upgrades won’t help with that And I don’t see a problem of doing like 1h a week of HV runs to upgrade it. If you had the time to horde corrupt items then cloak upgrade shouldn’t be an issue.
Right now you can have like 6-7 runs per week if I recall correctly. That’s pretty much no need to stash them for last upgrades of multiple pages.
I find them to be insanely fun, albeit super unbalanced.
I find it pretty stupid that my rogue at 460 ilvl and very bad azerite gear / corruptions and 445/440 daggers can 5 masks full clear without using more than 1 orb while my 470 BiS clad fury warrior gets rekt easily at 3 masks and above If I don’t play perfectly and even then I gotta use all my orbs.
As for your questions :-
The fun stems from the all stuff going on, the Visions are definitely doable for all classes at +5 masks, some might take longer to reach this but in the end they’re not impossible.
Think of it as a challenge mode where you can challenge yourself or maybe try and find a party of friends and do it.
The harder versions of the visions you do the better gear you get with the maximum gear being 470 which is insanely high.
As Bigkeg says, cloak won’t help with that level of corruption. I’m honestly surprised you live long enough to kill anything. I’ve heard people talk about 40 as a manageable level, and 100+ as an instant death sentence.
Totally with you on the gogogogo hate train. The main world loop of 8.3 for me is spending far too long in zones that make me want to be elsewhere[*] so I can hop into a deeply unfun gogogogo funnel in the hope(?) of rewards I don’t care about that are subject to multiple layers of RNG, which would make them distasteful even if I did respect them.
[*] I like Uldum. I like the Vale. I don’t want to have to spend time in the Corrupted versions of them. There’s a moment when you zone into Uldum, and everything is OK; then Blizz switch on the Big Blue Lamp In The Sky, and my heart sinks everi tim.
This. I hate it when runs are timed. I like taking my time when I do something solo, but then again…timer is what annoys me with M+ too. If a person DCs or, heck, spills water over keyboard your run is ruined.
Visions are great content, but I hate it how I have to grind dailies to get Vessels and then (most likely) fail a run when trying to test myself with more than 3 masks…and, of course, timer… >>
No i got other items so my corruption drops to 114 with that its manageable to do 2 boss run wit 246 even WQ’s feel like doing mythic bosses because all the stuff that spawns and will one shot you.
246 is awesome i use it to do WQ’s it makes boring kill 10 this or 10 that quests witch normally are easy harder and more fun because all the stuff that actually tries to kill you.
And let me tell you at that level of corruption avoiding the thing from the void is a real challenge when it runs at you faster than mages blink doing 175k-250k damage while same time eye tries and will kill you.
I found hilarious funny too, when my no cloak character got 75 corruption TD and had already 2 corrupted items. And without quests couldnt cleanse anything either. So had to force myself trough all those quests so I could have my overpowered weapon. Oddly stuff really didnt kill her and as she is warrior, she was able to leap off from the slows and debuffs the “thing from beyond” put on her. So running ‘red’ wasn’t too bad, but became slightly annoying after a while.
246 is really stupid level of corruption its fun to try out and see what happens and even thing from the void can be handled with mage but eye of corruption is the thing that kills you at this high corruption not even double shimmer saves me from it the circle is just too large and what is even more funny is when you shimmer you can spawn another circle. Also having -171% healing doesn’t really help when you cant even eat to get hp back and damage taken is +171%.
Mostly i do my WQ stuff at 114 because at that level i can actually survive the eye.
I really love mythic+ but I hate horrific visions.
Maybe if I didn’t have to grind boring WQs to get my 2 weekly entry tickets, or better yet, if I could do horrific visions whenever and as often as I want to, I’d enjoy them. Blizz could just make the HV loot based on your best run of the week, and everyone would be happy.
I’m already at the point where enjoying them is a thing of the past.
Without mask with the current cloak and research, they are a faceroll.
With mask, they are a pain because i’m one of the worse class in terms of
mobility and 90% of the things happening requires movement.
If anything, vision are a showcase of how blizz class design and encounter design are not linked togheter anymore. Tons of movement impairing that greatly affect some classes while others that are way to mobile can sail through with ease.
There is no point outside hoping for a good corruption roll that sadly, nowadays matters more than ilvl.
From a non-raiding casual scrub:
I found the visions to be surprisingly entertaining. They were abit daunting at first until I had a few runs and got a general overview over what’s going on.
I recently unlocked masks, haven’t tried a full run with one activated yet but I like seeing the progress as my cloak and archives upgrade.
I agree so much on the zone thing. And the bad part is; that beautiful uncorrupted vale will always be invaded from now on… they basically lied… there’s no uncorrupted vale! There’s always some crap up! Even when these stupid N’zoth invasions aren’t relevant anymore, they’ll still be ruining 2 great zones (not to mention the worms in the sky thing!).
I do find them fun. Really great addition, but i still dont like the fact we are limited by vessels which are limited by daily q.
To bit off topic this, in the introduction of them they have said you gonna face n’zoth there eventualy…ppl already cleared 5 masks runs so whats up with that? or was that just a tease for rank15 q?
