Which is…exactly what it is? A hut city. You’ve seen Zul’farrak etc having similar numbers but still populated. It’s nowhere near a major city, moreso a town like Darkshire etc, which is what I also said could work for Void Elves.
This would be too much for such a town, after all the Trolls are a starting race so obviously they’re going to have more, and it’s been more time since Warcraft 3 anyway.
At best you’ll have some target practise dummies on a rock lulw
Canonically there are not enough Void Elves to warrant a city. They don’t need one.
Want proof? Arthas wiped out 90% of the population of Quel’Thalas. Ren’dorei were exiles of those survivors by Lor’themar. If the Sin’dorei cannot even populate their own city, the Ren’dorei could not even populate a small town.
The Kaldorei (Night Elves) have Eldre’Thalas they could retake (aka Dire Maul)
Lets be real unless they pack racial capitals with the same features existing in SW/OG (mainly a portal room to just about anywhere) nobody is going to use them.
The main reason people go to Ironforge is for heirlooms.
The lore was retconned since Warcraft, almost all Darkspear trolls were saved, not only a few.
And no, you don’t deserve a capital. We have Stormwind and Orgrimmar deserving an a new look, and EVERY OTHER IGNORED CAPITAL deserving an expansion.
Capitals of allied races are really on the bottom of the list of most players. The fact that you could speak of the huts of Darkspear means that they are overdue for a city, and so are the Gnomes. Not the newcomers…
EDIT: Void elves can get something after the traditional races get their most desired changes
Taking it back would be a great quest chain, and could form the focus of either a new NE starter area, or when you ding 40. For existing NE’s who are past Bfa it could be a scaling chain.
Why would you take back a Highborne city? Aren’t you the ones who say no to the Highborne things? Wait till your tree recovers, no need to retake anything back.
The Shen’dralar are an abomination who created their own downfall, and are hardly redeemable. Feralas is one of the last untainted areas of Kalimdor, and the Highborn hardly need another city. Makes sense to me, though I also like the idea of a city in the roots and branches of Nordrassil.
To be honest, there are probably fewer Void Elves in existence lorewise than there are people on my street in the rural village I live in.
I mean if people -want- to ramp those numbers up, then feel free, this also means that there are more High Elves than previously thought (A People Blizzard describe as ‘a race in name only’) and therefore an -obscene- number of Blood Elves.
Seriously, Quel’thalas would have had to have been standing room only.
I am equally sure that Stormwind, the grand capital of Humanity on the planet contains more than two hundred and so people, as that’s not even a village, I mean that is about 25 times smaller than the population of the village I live in. And it is a small village.
Yet that is what it shows us. So we can’t really go with the in game depictions as being anything other than representative. My character can walk from one side of Orgrimmar or Stormwind to the other in less time than it takes me to walk to the corner shop up the road, so lets not get hung up on numbers, or we end up with stupid things like “All the Orcs arrived on three boats from Eastern Kingdoms!” (No they didn’t, you buffoons) and Humans in Warcraft build houses too small to stand up in! (Also from the RTS games)
A lot of this is representative
The Void Elves do not have a sustainable enough population to have a city. Heck, the High Elves and Void Elves -combined- are not big enough to have a sustainable city.
The Night Elves however should totally get an instanced Black Rook Hold as their capital.
No, you joined the Horde, who have carried out an active campaign to destroy the remaining Shen’dralar. I’m a Night Elf traditionalist, and not happy that the Shen’dralar have been allowed to bring arcane studies to the Kaldorei. However, I don’t try and assassinate them, and acknowledge that the ones who escaped the Horde’s sacking of Eldre’Thalas are now tied to us. The more I think about it, the more retaking the city makes sense.
First of all, we did not JOIN, we allied ourselves. Most importantly we have Allied ourselves with the Sin’dorei, as they seem to have better tolerance for the Highborn society rather than your Queen who seeks “Elune’s guidance”.
When it suits them - there is after all a Sin’dorei quest chain to assisinate a Highborne (Shen’dralar) lore keeper working with the Kaldorei. Let’s face it, all of us elves are cast in lore as callous, self-serving xenophobes who struggle to even tolerate members of the divisions of our own race - how depressingly human
Anyway, sorry, don’t want to divert the thread any more, so I’ll leave it there - Elu’meniel mal alann
New suggestion blizzard that will make everyone happy, lets just blow up all the cities including Orgrimmar and Stormwind and build tents outside the ruins since everyone thinks having cities is just a burdan and a sin…/end thread.
If you are not an Rp-er?
They are
Crowded, laggy, full of infantiles yelling something obscenities or spamming anal jokes, or bickering about politics
The only reason a non-rp player goes to a city is the AH and transmog (maybe herilooms)… both are either available by mounts, yak/longboi or in your garrison, if you repaired the AH bot
And the pvp vendor or crafting trainers, maybe some weekly quests
Thats all
If the covenant sanctums would allow you to mount up, Oribos would be deserted like the Exodaar
