you can do it better
Infact we are told this by WoWpedia with regards to the race as a whole:Under Alleria's guidance, as well as the tutelage and instruction of her own teacher, Locus-Walker, the void elves made strides in mastering their nature.
06/11/2018 19:54Posted by ElenthasYeah that section is unsourced btw, it's literally just a wowpedia editors thoughts, nothing more.
Firstly when it comes to speculation WoWpedia tend to list it as so, they are an officially recognized wiki and have a standard to maintain. Anyway, to this point. Alleria states in the quest For the Alliance (Void Elf) that "You have learned many lessons here".
https://wow.gamepedia.com/For_the_Alliance_(void_elf)
Not quite the same flair to the wording, but pretty much referring to the same thing. That Void Elves have made strides in gaining control over their void-infused selves.
Also, Umbric states with regards to Alleria "She has helped us quiet our minds. Dampen the whispers." in the dialogue for the quest The Void Elves Stand Ready.
https://wow.gamepedia.com/The_Void_Elves_Stand_Ready
I don't think there is any question that the race made strides in mastering their nature. That is not to say they have mastered it. No one is arguing that the Void Elves do not still constantly struggle with the whispers and it is entirely possible some might fall to them but the vast majority have learnt to cope for now at least. To me that ever present threat and the mental discipline required to constantly battle it is part of what makes them appealing to RP.

Well I play NIth kind of based around the same mind set as a blood elf , she lived in Silvermoon for most of her life and shares the same arrogances even after swapping sides from Horde to Alliance so she feels superior to Alliance races just as she felt superior to Horde ones but I also added in just a bit of crazy to her now she has the void whispers in her head, and she can also blame the whispers on why every time she earns a few coins she ends up spending them on something completely frivolous so is always completely broke. She certainly wouldnât be a great promotional void elf for Alleria to wave around and show how it all worked out good with the training.
Honestly if you don't want to roleplay the entire mad whisper, crazy man-aspect of velves why not just play a belf, instead? Logging on Alliance (for the first time in forever) the other day honestly shocked me with how many purple (not nelf) elves were just roaming around, basically not even roleplaying the fact they're void-infused creatures; characters that'd be better off just being blood elves, or nightborne, so why not?
Oh.
Alliance.
HIGH ELVES NEVER EVER HAHA.

Doubt we'll ever see playable high elves. But something visually similar? Judging by a post-Blizzcon interview with Alex Afrasiabi, it's not outside the realm of possibility the void elves get that option later on.
"There is a chance that new customization options could be added to the Void Elves to fill the High Elf fantasy."
Personally I'm fine with the void elves being pale tentacle freaks though.

I will say this again, and I am fed up of saying it.
There is no difference; physically or mentally, between a Quelâdorei and a Sinâdorei.
Except eye colour.
That is the whole reason why the Alliance got the Renâdorei, making them differeant enough from High/Blood Elf to make it a race on itâs own.
In a just and correct world, Alleria would have green eyes, not blue. As would many other high elves.
I'd love to see a havoc focused Void elf group as I need one more reason to hate them XD

Because it's not supposed to be played like that.
You have observation bias because the only Nelves you've seen are the ones in the islands, but it's basically NEVER shown to be that way. And I really mean never.
They are depicted in two ways:
1) Scholarly types, with strong morals and discipline of mind extremely pro-alliance
2) Haughty 'high society' socialites with a taste for dark and purple clothes

I agree with you, but the problem is, the Velf zone is depicted with quite a big number of Belves & Helves and joining the ranks, and actual void looking Velves should logically quickly become a minority, Since they are the ones who got forcefully transformed in the event.
Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly comfortable with my current character and they don't need such customisations, but they would make a lot of sense.

Can you link me some void elf socialite NPCs, I've never seen these.
07/11/2018 13:59Posted by AshekiranBecause it's not supposed to be played like that.
Hmm I wonder if there's any major velf lore characters who get crazy whispers in their mind...
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

You are trying to save your argument by changing your premises.
Velves get whispers yes. They don't become crazy though.
Feel free to show me examples where she roleplayed madness for others to see after she mastered the void though. Because that's the point of the conversation. Not what happens inside, but what is shown outside.

To be fair the whole void thing is the least interesting part about velves for me. I do still occasionally point out the fact that he is constantly struggling to keep the voices in his head in check. But the most interesting dynamic about velves is the fact that they are former blood/high elves. They've been on both sides of the conflict and some of them most likely have spent more time fighting alongside the Alliance than 90% of the people in it.

One commenting on your fashion as a way to dismiss you is enough to be called a 'socialite'?
Seems a bit thin to me.

This is an invitation-only gathering. Did you bring an invitation? No?
I thought not.
Yeah I saw that. He's just being snobby in telling you to bugger off.
Being a snob doesn't make you a socialite, otherwise all BElves would be.
That could be a cultist meeting for all we know - hell, it's near Twilight Central (aka the Cathedral) so that'd make sense.

I don't care what it actually is, I'm just showing you what it looks like, what it's showed to be like. The archetypes.

2 npcs is enough to say socialities are a depiction.
3 npc island expeditioners isn't enough to say crazy is a depiction.
