Come on the End Times were a flop, if you didn’t play chaos or skaven your faction got crapped on.
Never denied the inspiration, I just said why I thought Moving away from that inspiration was for the better.
What does this has to do with anything ?
If End Times were not loved by many and loved by many why did it get such an overwhelmingly negative reception? You may say whatever you want about immaturity of such claims, but its not untrue. Most people dislike End Times. Most people dislike Age of Sigmar. If you did like it, well, i am personally glad someone did, me - i liked the minis, but not the role around End Times.
About asmongold - i dislike him greatly, but he is right about disliking corps despite being uninformed. The “it will cost you a raid tier” and other releated stuff is like “we are in WoD waters of content quality”, except despite the cuts of content wod had class armor for everyone during raids. And you know who is responsible for it. Not. Corps. At. All.
Which is just fine, you Don’t have to be grimdark and only war in all fantasy settings forever.
Even while we’ve done that we’ve never really been friends as factions. Just a temporary truce where we are still enemies.
Hey we Undead and the whole Empire came out dandy. Skaven were crapped on greatly, Archaon vitchslapped Horned Rat and threatened to butcher its filthy hide in Age of Sigmar because vermin failed him.
Moving away PROPERLY would be better. But we see the lower quality of writing and thus, moving in a wrong direction. Alas.
Undead: tomb kings got deleted, Mannfred became the biggest dumb-dumb of the old world.
Skaven got out fine in the end, they kicked arses during all of the End Times and the Great Horned Rat became the fifth Chaos God.
I played Beastmen and we got crapped on hard, I was sold a gallery of characters supposed to bring an end to the age of man only for them to get one shot by some no names (hello Malagor the Dark Omen) and used as cannon fodder for uberchaos.
See, you are doing it again. Stop it, it’s embarrasing. You didn’t like a thing, that’s fine. Leave it at that. You don’t have to make it your life’s goal to make everyone else not like the thing and convince everyone that liked the thing that no one likes the thing. You are being childish.
Nothing, just an amusing thing I remembered that’s tangentially related to the topic.

Yes, that is true, but what is the point of said universe then? Like fantasy genre is always about conflict with greater evil - lets say, dhs - and recovery after the said conflict while a new evil - say, new allied races - raise their head to pose an even greater threat. The “neverending war” is not the same as “neverending conflict”. Written properly and intruduced properly, even minor conflict between the two rivaling houses can be way more interesting than, say, Legion story overall.
Undead: big daddy came back, yes, old CONTROVERSIALLY BAD characters like vlad got killed, Mannfred is incredibly, brutally retarded, but overall i say we won (i never said i liked tomb kings, i said undead, devil’s in details).
Skaven did some stuff, then after all Archaon is bossing horned rat despite its IM NEW CHAOS GOD! state.
Oh, beastie boys, well, there there, you will get better hopefully, after all, in Underworlds you are getting new minis. I wish you the best.
Some people might have liked the End Times and good for them but it’s a well known fact that most people didn’t:
You liked Bretonnia ? Random civil war coming out of nowhere so no you are not doing anything relevant.
You liked Tomb Kings ? Too bad, they get deleted.
You like the lizardmen ? We are just going to through a moon at them so we Don’t have to resolve their plotlines.
You like the Vampire Counts ? We are gonna make Mannfred the most hated character ever.
You like the Beastmen ? Well now you are chaos grunts with no relevance to the story and all your important characters are getting one shotted by no names.
You like any of the Asian themed factions ? They are dying off screen.
He is literally stating the fact thought. Majority of player base disliked End Times. Not even trying to convince you, and not making anything his life’s goal. You are seeing things.
What I conclude from reading this thread, is that it’s probably a good thing I don’t know anything about Warhammer.

Well I didn’t play undead so if you are satisfied by their conclusion who am I to object ? Still most factions really got crapped on.
Don’t worry, they really did the beastmen justice in AoS. Their new lore is really cool. Wouldn’t mind a few more models though.
Please define ‘overwhelming negative reception’. Please define how many people is ‘most people’. Then please reference statistical data that proves your point.
Until you do, I will work with the statistical data that is readily available in the Internet that disproves your point, ie. Age of Sigmar has been selling more product than Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition for several years now and Age of Sigmar events in the UK and the US enjoy a larger attendance than Warhammer Fantasy Battles 8th Edition events had at their peak.

Yeah it’s pretty stupid when 2 similar fandoms start petty slap fights, but it can also be somewhat entertaining.
Never said AoS was bad, in the first line of my original post I said that I play it. I said the End Times were bad.
The other person did and I was replying to them. That being said, you are free to provide similar statistical data on people disliking End Times. I remember the books and models selling quite well, I remember events being well attended and I remember all the excited conversations I had with people. But I was Junior Manager at a tabletop game store at the time, so what do I know, you read some negativity in an internet echo chamber so you must be right.
The “whats this crap” and other similar comments are what i heard releated to End Times. “Most people” as if i never heard anyone in my city (Moscow) who played FB praising storyline of End Times. Not a single person. Thats my statistical data. You got yours? I doubt it. You came here hostile and trying to prove someone something, not i or this dh - i hate dhs - with whom i agree.
Age of sigmar was selling because it was something new and 8th ed was not supported, thats why it was not selling for several years. So speak of echo chamber all you want, but its you who is trying to convince someone to change their tone or whatever, not me. Which makes me wonder whos’ the one in the echochamber.

Well if you worked at a tabletop game and your customers were happy about it good for you. Personnaly I doubt that a insert any of the faction that got crapped on fan would enjoy the storyline. I also remember people throwing their collections, a guy even burned like 10 000 points of dark elves (he must regret that decision now that they are playable again lol).
