Actually it is 4+ times the spellpower to gain 1 dps compared to direct casts.
Direct casts is 3.5SP = 1 dps.
For curse of agony i need 24 spellpower for 1 dps because it deals 100% of spellpower ober 24 seconds.
Siphon Life sucks even more. It deals 50% of spellpower over 30 seconds… so for
+1dps on siphon life i would need 60 sp! completely nuts.

I am afraid it will not happen… they rather just keep boosting the overall damage instead of resolving the real root of the problem.
A straight +120% overall dmg boost on Unstable Affliction is evidence that they take the easy way.
But hey who cares if it is at least effective.
Tbf p2 Destro at 40 probably has a much higher dps than fire destro 50 in p3. Just because of Lake of Fire rune death durin p3.
Anyway, maining a Warlock as well, i read and see WF guild reach over 3k dps on their warriors / hunters / shamans and rogue. More than twice the potencial of BiS warlock.
Dead class now. And it seems Aggrend won’t fix much. When they start rolling double crusader chants in p4, they will just eclipse all casters.

Well the changes are all positive. Still dps wise we ll be weak compared to mellee but ok.
If the bonus damage dealt from the armor reduction from curse of recklessnes plus bonus spellpower from demonic pact for the 4 other party members would count to the warlock’s own dps then we would be rank 1 now i guess. Just a wild guess.
Anyone ever actually calculated how much % bonus physical damage the boss eats for being cursed with recklessnes?
I am for fixing all the crappy runes and meme talents regardless of Class and spec and making them interesting to play. But I dont play Hunter so I cannot objectively comment on which ones are underteuned or down right useless unlike in case of Warlock. Warrior specifically seem to be very boring when it comes to runes so far, especially tank.
Destro can pick ut up too since it is in the same slot as Felguard and immo aura. Immo aura is good for DPS lock only in AOE situation since it requires going near and it is gonna tick for up to 50 every 2 seconds at best. Felguard is better than non-talented succubus and slightly better than talented succubus, even though his autoattack is slightly weaker his cleave hits much harder than his AA unlike lash of pain and hits every 6 seconds (while succubus needs improved lash of pain talent from destro to hit every 6 seconds). However with pets receiving mana feed (mana regen from life tap) imp with talents (which are very accesible for destro) is gonna deal 50-100% more dps than felguard with full demo talents. So if conflag + backdraft is not your thing you can swap to UA instead of immolate.
It is also possible to use conflagate with shadowflame. Not sure if it would be worth it going down that path…
Use UA instead of immolate, use shadowflame instead of demonic knowledge, have to stand in almost melee range because shadowflame is only 10meters or so…
Seems too complicated for me and seems not really to be a dps upgrade
But straight not using backdraft but pandemic instead as destro wl would be a massive dps downgrade i am 99% sure about that
buffed or not UA is really only good if you stack it with other dots and hunt and destro is mana starved as it is so i dont see destro specing into UA
and why cast UA if incinerate already hits like a track anyways ,my inc hits for 600-700+ dmg and crits for 1k+ dmg that is post buffed UA full duration in one cast
I tested quite a bit Shadowflame and its damage is now pretty good. Probably the best aoe for Fire destro combined with immo aura. Get close to melee, Shadowflame => hellfire.
The issue though is i feel like demonic knowledge giving 80+ sp is too good to pass on.
But what i also see is that imp can die to any aoe / cleave. Felguard has the staying power. If you loose your pet, siddenly DK, synergy etc are useless.
Right now i am testing a shadowdestro cleave spec with Felguard, corruption (everlasting affliction on legs) shadowvolley, nightfall, pandemic, master channeler and ruin. It works pretty good. And you get good synergy with your Shadowpriests.
With both drain life dot and corruption, nightfall procs a LOT.
I feel like we are better focusing on cleave than ST now that melees double your ST dps anyway. Just give them curse of reck and shadowcleave.y
Because INC is 2,25 cast while UA (or immolate if talented) is 1.5 sec cast so you are getting more damage for the time you spend casting. INC + its own buff, + destro talents + shadow and flame deals 108% of your SP, so 48% for 1 second of casting. UA assuming the incoming +120% buff will deal 242% SP including shadow and flame (but nothing else, so this is without haunt or improved SB) which would result in 161% SP for 1 second of casting.
Yes it is often called the “dpsc” of a spell.
Damage per second of cast time.
This value is 2-3 times higher for dots than for direct spells. Thats why the spellpower scaling sucks so hard for dots because pvp people would cry too much.
This will change on wednesday (17. 4.) With the new feature that your pets will generate mana through your lifetap there is no need to use downranked spells for a better damage per mana ratio.
That’s why resilience exists. It not only reduces DOT damage but also general damage. But it’s since TBC. without resilience, we can’t balance this game
Like already discussed in another thread:
Even better would be to make the Lionheart Self factor x1.5 instead of x2 and therefore the demonic pact self factor also x1.5 (instead of x1) to make this runes a bit more optional and not overshading the other options.

They did also stealth nerf the dispel dmg by like 50% now everyone just dispels without a big punishment since reapplying UA is often impossible
