So we are forced to do some certain content before we can just buy the exclusive mounts etc?
More Character Slots and Early Character Conversion
We’re also adding five new character slots to all World of Warcraft accounts so you can make even more characters. You also don’t have to wait for the end of Legion Remix to move your characters over to play with them in The War Within.
Transferring your character will remove all Remix-specific items and abilities, clear your quest log, and grant you level-appropriate gear and gold. Any legacy items you collected, including any unopened cosmetics, will be mailed to you.
This is a one-way trip, so make sure you choose wisely before transferring timelines.
This is also a nice change
On the phases: please communicate clearly per phase what is and what isn’t available
I am not a fan of phases, I would rather everything is available all the time.
Its a remix, it doesn’t need to be chronologically coherent
Otherwise I am looking forward to this, esp for the new unique mogs but as well to get some of those mounts that used to be paragon rep farms
It would have been a nicer change if they didn’t implement the timegated ‘phases’ system this time round. Because you wouldn’t want to transfer a character and find out the next phase has something unique you want now.
So the combination of those two things is a bit screwy.
Yes, as only 5% or less play pvp, and one of the biggest reasons is because the best sets and mounts can never be obtained again.
I do feel for the people who enjoy evoker, that there class is being left out.
As mine is purely going to be one character for Remix I’m not affected but I can see that others would be.
But it’s still a nice change considering people didn’t like having to wait.
I’m just wondering. Is one toon enough to get all the content (just like in MoP) or do I need every class? (I hope with most things being warbound now, that maybe one is enough)
I did everything on one character last time. Don’t see why it wouldn’t be the same this time.
Well, in MoP you didn’t have class halls and the like. That’s why I was wondering.
I just hope we will be able to collect EVERYTHING with 1 toon. If there is a need to create more characters because of otherwise inaccessible collectibles, it will be a fail.
I hope you’re right, but Legion was VERY class orientated. With exclusive class content and such. So… I’m not so sure we’ll be able to unlock everything on one character.
Not that I’m affected by that, mind you, since I only care about my hunter(s). But still… I hope for people who are interested in ‘everything’, that they won’t literally have to roll one of every class to do so.
I’m so hyped for this.
It sounds awesome.
Really looking forward to heroic world mode. Whilst watching it, I was kind of wondering whether it would work well in retail. But let’s see.
The staggered release is interesting, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to partake in the whole event. So hopefully at the very least, I will be able to get involved in the final month (and not the first half).
It sounds like we have a great game to play.
Dont forget casual PvP dying from negligence (random BG rife with queuesniping cheaters who bypass the ingame limit of being able to sign up to a bg with a max of 5 players at a time) which means there is hardly any casual PvPer left to ‘grow up’ (for lack of a better term) to rated PvP content
The pool where new pvpers often find their flow is full of toxic algae
ngl legion remix looks really good. I’d love to see those things in retail. Fun game with lots of outdoor content instead of balancing game around m+ and mythic raids.
Maybe one day…
My main concern has not seen a mention in the slightest so I’m still VERY wary. Unless this has been addressed elsewhere? I don’t frequent the forums etc much. But anyone who’s played MoP Remix knows that whatever challenge there supposedly is, will be be gone almost as soon as it appears. And with it comes the problem of people playing as if they were on drugs needing to speedrun the hell out of everything, they will most likely have kept the appearance delay but later on everything will likely be oneshot anyway, similar problem with dungeons/raids. Can only cross my fingers harder for them to give rare mobs and stuff a few seconds worth of invincibility or something so at least everyone present can tag it before it gets oneshot. For dungeon/raids? Yeah, that’s probably gonna ruin the experience for me the most.
From the War Within pre event with Arthas, Onyxia and Ragnaros (I just realised how Hakkar was reduced to a side boss lol), the team should have learned at least that the people who play like withdrawal symptoms are about to kick in are NOT the gold standard. Not even within this volatile ecosystem of playstyles, needless to say but just for the record, I consider them far lower anyway.
Another issue that’s coming to mind is availability. Like, do I have to have the current expansion? If not, I’m screwed. MoP didn’t require it, but with certain additions I’ve had to pay closer attention to that. Lorewalking is open, but quest COMPLETION is locked behind expansion access. At least he Lich King one was a GOOD bummer stopping me in my tracks after escaping him (it was funny to play as a horde player, ship crew attacking me after picking up the loot from the chest, probably could have squashed them easily but I didn’t want to take chances)
Aside from all that I do look forward to collecting all I can, also crossing my fingers I can get through the regular story stuff as before, every time I come back and see everything basically disabled it’s a bit of a downer but I guess that can’t be helped. If this was my remix I’d give Saltheril a redemption arch and get him as a companion or something. Still would have preferred Burning Crusade Remix but Legion is quasi TBC 2.0 so it will have to do
yeah, thats whats im worried about, i can only hope that everything is accountwide :X
The whole point of remix is to be overpowered and speedy. I suspect the outdoor hardmode will probably be more to your tastes. As for world bosses etc I think they put in a 1 minute or so timer for people to get there? You could always try the PTR to see.
If MoP didn’t need the current expansion then Legion won’t either. I can only see an issue of whether you will be capped at 70 or 80 and unable to play it after.
Being speedy and overpowered is one thing, what I’m talking about is another. Like people speedrunning dungeons/raids so fast that others can’t catch up and aren’t even eligible for loot. But stuff like this has been discussed at nauseum. The culprits don’t care because they are as ignorant as one would expect. We’re not gonna have new points to this here or anywhere. So the question really lies with whether or what Blizzard will or will not have done about it.
And yeah I mentioned the “phase in” bit of rares/world bosses, but that wasn’t always really enough in MoP, definitely not for casters without instant damage spells. The timer is useless when an enemy is oneshot or otherwise down quickly. And that’s even an issue without jerks getting into the mix.
I’m of two minds on this:
In regular current content, I don’t like speedrunning stuff either.
But in Remix I do. It felt awesome to me, racing through raids; leaving the loot to pick up later in the mail. It was part of the experience for me.
I really hope they don’t nerf our power levels compared to how they were in MoP.
