We need a rating decay system

If blizzard keeps on doing mmr changes mid season that causes 3v3 to die out, we should get a rating decay system.

The players that played fotm to 3.4K in 8.0 haven’t played a single game since 3 months. Just make it so you lose 2-3 rating every day if you don’t play a game.

How many mmr resets mid season have blizzard ever done?

Seems like a reaction to a non-problem.

I don’t think changes to players’ MMR is the intention. It’s happened in the past some times as well, but ideally the MMR system is just something that should be left to itself, running in the background.

As far as FotM and class balance changes go, then there will probably always be a meta-game shift during the Season because of balance changes. Patch 8.1.0 happened mid-Season and patch 8.1.5 will happen mid-Season too.
I’m also not sure…When I read the forums I get the clear impression that players want Blizzard to make more class balance changes during the ongoing PvP Season, not less. So players are kind of asking Blizzard to constantly shift and upset the meta-game.

All that being said, then I guess you could implement a rating decay system for the highest ratings, say 3000+. I would argue that such a system should incur a weekly decay and not a daily one, otherwise it can become too taxing and punishing to try and keep up with.

I’m not sure how big the issue is though, if it’s specific to this Season or it’s a general, recurring problem.

If anything then let rating past 3k decay. This is where the competitive players are playing.

There aren’t people on 3K+ every season though

Its not fair man, what if the guy has a irl issue that prevents him from playing?

You mean like me since start of November being deployed to a training? :sob:

Or locked up behind bars.

'chu mean? cmonBruh

Enjoy Bfa.
