We need to talk about current T3 material cost

people complained about cured rugged hides being expensive so the big brain move was to change the uniform craft to cured thick hides.

yay said blizzard, we saved the city.

yeah ok, cured rugged hides went down slightly, but in return cured thick hides skyrocketed from like 10 silver each to 15g each.

hope you saved up some (unrefined) deeprock salts as well, cus naturally those went up to 5-6g each.

you also can’t proc multiple thick hides when crafting, so lol gg.

Cured thick hides aren’t restrained by a 3 day CD material cost though so it will be easier to craft and pump out those mats…

It’s people profiteering off a pre phase bottleneck. You had 2 months to prepare, why didn’t you create loads of thick hides or buy them cheap?

It’s a tough market out there. If you don’t get in and abuse early someone else will do it for you.

So glad I stocked up on thick hides well in advance.

alright, fair point. they still skyrocketed in price tho (hello, remember what i said about supply and demand?).

who says i didn’t?

yep.

ah so just to be clear; now its not an issue because you are well prepared for the price hike?
curious how your opinion seems to have coincidentally changed alongside this change in material requirements that you complained about.

I was being sarcastic… Mirroring your inept arguments and others before you.

you might have been sarcastic in one part of your argument, namely this part:

but you’re gonna have a hard time calling this part “sarcasm”:

like, was i supposed to assume you were lying (hence the “sarcasm”) when you said you stocked up on them in preparation for next phase? - something i literally advised you to do if you hope to keep up with the evolving in-game economy.
what was the strat here.

I’m not sitting here explaining sarcasm for you.

Go use chatgpt and learn from that instead.

hit a roadblock there, did we

Back to the topic at hand: AFAIK the amount of materials requires for T3 will be significantly reduced next Wednesday at the start of the new phase.

…Just in time for T3 to be worthless. Enjoy.

80% reduction so the poor casuals can get a leg-up
watch them complain that its still too expensive.

In fact 99% reduction because it will crash the market if supply>>demand (and players made a lot of alts so supply will keep going) then price is almost 0. Market would crash even without this change on next phase as much less people will turn-in t3 next phase

To be honest the material requirement to purchase T3 was a relic and a hassle from a different era. It didn’t fit the tone of SoD at all.

SoD has been all about getting as many people engaged with raiding as possible. To start fiddling with secondary raid resources, starting with AQ and continuing in Naxx, didn’t add anything to the game really.

Yes it’s true you could prepare for it, yes it’s true professions yielded a significant number of extra mats.

This still doesn’t change the fact that the system has been a pointless hassle.

I remember when we went into MC and all you had to do was get a token and boom, you had the item, same with BWL.

Then AQ came and the circus started… Come on guys there’s a reason the token system has been one of the few constants over the years and stuff like idols or scraps or other profession items being required to buy tier never returned again.

For anyone that stuck with SoD and prepared for this hurdle it was like it wasn’t even there. For people that took a break or couldn’t play for a while and returned recently - or people who just don’t farm gold, it was a significant issue.

And it was an issue that didn’t need to be there. It pushed a lot of people in the hands of “currency peddlers” and slowed down significantly for a lot of people acquiring off-spec sets.

As for the prepared gamers… well more power to you, sitting on mountains of gold in a seasonal realm with a very uncertain future, hopefully you’ll get to enjoy it further.

Not true, in wotlk t10/cata t11 for example, you need first to get tier tokens for currency, and then upgrade them with raid tokens on higher difficulty. Yes emblems currency is not profession resource, but its still some type of grind required to get your tier
