What could be the next class? What's your wish?

What’s your wish for the next class? Or what do you think has the most chance to make it? How would you want it to look like?

Thought it might be fun to speculate.

What I think has the most chance, and my wish is the Tinker. Why do I think it has a chance to be implemented, two reasons:

1. Tinkering is a big deal lore wise for many playable races. It’s even the core identity of Gnomes, Goblins and Mechagnomes.
2. All three classes implemented post launch basically come straight out of Warcraft 3, and there is a Tinker in Warcraft 3.

As for how I’d like it to look like. I’d like it to have three specs:

• Tanking spec, turning him into a tank, literally. Like in Warcraft 3;
• Healing spec, similar to Medics from StarCraft;
• Ranged DPS spec, rocketeer all about rockets again like in Warcraft 3;

WoW misses opportunity to expand,and have 20 new classes and specs by now.

Wow has maybe 2 expansions left in it,don’t you see already 40% playerbase left since SL release?

It’s a never ending endeavour since Vanilla… by that logic we shouldn’t have had DKs, Monks and Demon Hunters since they can’t ‘perfectly’ balance the original classes…

I don’t think there will be a next/new class any time soon.

Some specs may be added or reworked but that’s it, at least that’s my bet.

I want a caster class that uses mail. I would love a necromancer and before any one starts shouting about Death Knights or Warlocks I mean a shadow necromancer like the ones you see in Shadowmoon Valley on alternate draenor those would be amazing.

Maybe a bard class, I’ve never personally been a fan of those but I’d like to see it worked in.

Or a summoner class.

I want, in that order, tinkers, necromancers, rangers and bards.

Tinkers have a lot of Warcraft lore behind them already, and some cool potential mechanics not yet used by any class.

Necromancers should have been added in Shadowlands, IMHO. In the past I speculated a cloth caster with two DPS specs and one healer spec based on blood magic, but now I think some Bastion-style anima healing could be a healer spec instead.

Rangers are typically magical archers, and in Warcraft they could be based on the hero classes from WC3 like Naga Sea Witch, Priestess of the Moon, Shadow Hunter or Dark Ranger. They could easily split the more magical abilities off of hunters. We badly need another ranged weapon user.

Bards are a fantasy trope that is yet to be represented in Warcraft, and I think it would fit very well with some of the more whimsical elements of the settings. Give it a more metal spin and a lot of people would enjoy it, I think.

“Fix the playable ones” they say. It’s been 15 years and the classes still aren’t fixed and I don’t think they’ll ever be.

Might as well get a new class. I say get the necro.

blizzard cant even manage to balance the existing classes. if they put even more in to the pool it will become a massive s***show. Thats one of the issues why so many people complain about their speccs. Its not that the specc is not viable at all, but you can only bring 20 people… while we have 36 speccs in the game, so the options are now super strict. 20 man was just a bad idea. should have kept it at 25.
