Correct me if I am wrong, but the dragons don’t use illusions, do they. They more so actually BECOME the thing. Didn’t Alexstrasza once turn herself into a tree? I know nothing of the context, it just seemed so absurd it’s stuck in my head.

I would have to read up on that one, but I think it is true. Kairozdormu for instance actually -becomes- an orc, allowing Garrosh to easily kill him.

Then again, there is the DF dialogue between Turalyon and Shaw where the former wants their mages to start coming up with better detection-spells to see through Dragon -visages, which implies they’re illusions. So im not entirely sure what is true here, but am still inclined to think the former.

If that’s the case, and Kairoz actually cheesed it because he had an elf’s literal anatomy, wouldn’t Alexstrasza becoming a tree completely lobotomize her and she would simply remain a tree forever
