That could very easily be retconned, not in the least due to Arthas being one of the most iconic characters in the setting and many players believing him to have been given a fitting end back in WOTLK only for the character to be deliberately desecrated in Shadowlands.
It wouldn’t be the first time a character has ‘definitely’ exited the story only to reappear later on in some form.
