Boooooo!!! Hellooooooooo!!!
Just check o RIO to get an idea…
For M+ survival is by far the lowest with 0.4% the highest represented spec for referance is prot warrior and resto druid with 5.5%.
Fire mage 0.8%
Affliction 0.9%
Assasination 1.0%
Disc priest 1.1%
Sub rogue 1.1%
Frost DK 1.3%
Arms warrioir 1.3%
Mistweaver 1.3%
Brewmaster 1.3%
Enhancement 2.7% highest represented shaman spec in M+
Ele and resto at around 1.9%
as tank guardian / as heal disc or MW / as DD feral - rogue assa - fire - SV hunt
I feel like Mistweaver has had an increase in popularity since they made the spec feel great to play. There are fewer Discpline Priests in M+ for sure.
In my humble learner’s opinion the biggest issue with Mistweaver is that the spec requires a rethink from your classic caster healer mindset, especially when things start to go a bit wrong. There is definitely a point in a Mistweaver’s life when they think that they don’t have any cooldowns and that they cannot react to big damage. But IMO it’s mostly that they’re not using the kit correctly. When you keep at it and learn how to play the class it gets a lot more fun.
Now, if you’re optimising, Mistweaver falls flat because they don’t bring any utility over WW. WW does pretty good damage so you’ll bring a WW and then add a Resto Druid instead. Or an Evoker if your group needs BL. But as long as you’re just running keys with friends, Mistweaver is still a pretty solid choice if you’re willing to learn and your friends have some degree of pain tolerance while you’re trying to figure out the spec
1.9% of specs in M+ is feral.
Most definetly all the monk ones.
As others have pointed out, it’s survival hunter, fire mage is a close second.
They are the least played spec in both m+ and raid.
There are also not many doing rated pvp but they are not the least played there.
I get pugs remarking about how rare it is to have a mistweaver (me) with the team, so I guess we’re pretty rare?
Which is a shame, it’s actually pretty capable already and the 10.0.5 changes look healthy and seem to answer all but one of the outstanding problems.
I don’t think I even like survival hunter but I am going to play it anyway because hardly anyone else does. This may be a mistake.
I push keys with a survival hunter since Shadowlands season 1
Yes, feral has become rather popular now. I actually did a key (on my feral) with another feral a couple of days ago.
Affliction warlock propably until seeds and dotspread become instant and as easy as those faceroll 1 button aoe specs…
Imagine ua going off with seed at 10% power…
I played with a pug feral in a dungeon, he was blasting… they can definitely do damage… just some other specs do more while bringing a bit more.
Funny thing is tho, Afflcition is represented in highest keys… Just only in certain dungeons
In fact, all 3 warlock specs are represented in the top keys, they seem to be in a really good spot, it’s just that one spec is better in X dungeon vs Y dungeon.
Funny thing.
The current rank 1 warlock in the world (In M+)
Has yet to do every dungeon on fortified and Tyrannical with the same spec…
It does depend a lot on the key level. Feral gets stronger as key level gets higher and pull sizes get larger. Plus, our funnel damage increases with pull size, which is why we’re so good on things like the tree boss in AA.
And I think feral’s utility gets overlooked because we don’t have an AOE stun or out of combat CC, but we do have a ton of utility as well as strong enough off healing to keep the group alive in a pinch if the healer goes down.
