What is up with devs and visual effects?

They don’t have a giant green cone, there’s bit of green spew and that’s it. Also insulting people doesn’t make for a compelling argument.

Edit: Just died to it in UR16, it was in the middle of a pack of mobs with storming everywhere, couldn’t see it coming with the current visual.

If that is a cone you should check your eyes.

It is 3 line of slime being sucked in, usually pulled with slimes that leave green puddles on the ground.

But that’s forum goers core strategy! D:

They do have a giant green cone, the same one that guards in CoS have (but in pink color). Exactly. The. Same.

I wasn’t insulting anyone, but the example with these maggots aren’t valid if you speak about LACK of visual warnings while contrasting them to the very same visuals in CoS (which you call okay-ish).

Forming a what? Oh, right… A cone.

They definitely don’t, CoS guards have a purple cone on the ground before doing their ability, the maggots, like I said multiple times, only have a few green spits in front of them that go in the air during the cast, no ground animation at all, sure after they have a big vomit during the channeling but it’s not what we we’re talking about here.

Does this thing really need an extra visual? A :duck: ing giant cone that can be seen from space… And it’s in a stark conrast in color with the ground, so it doesn’t fuse with the environment

I didn’t even know that the guards in CoS have an extra visual on the ground, since these “few spits” are visible as well

You don’t see the problem? This is not a clear indicator at all, there’s nothing on the ground telling you the size of it, it’s easily missable and when the maggot is in the middle of a pack good luck telling the direction it’s going to vomit. Even the green blob in the mouth of the mob is useless, the cast bar above the mob already tells me it’s casting its frontal and I can’t see it either if the mob is in the middle of a pull with 5-6 mobs.

Anyway that was just an example which was fine, it’s pointless to debate it more.

Uneven ground is awful, or stairs. You can’t always tell where effects are and they can’t always be seen at all.

So, the problem is you not being able to tear your eyes off the skill panel. Should have started with that, there’d be no need in debating indeed.

Height difference acts as the greatest shield against mobs’ mechanics, since they don’t hit you if you are on different levels. Try pulling a few packs on the pier in CoS and get closer to the water on the stairs. Mobs will be like :eye: :lips: :eye:

It’s hit and miss, quite literally. Yes some places you can cheese but if you are on uneven ground or a carpet, you can’t see where stuff starts or ends

Making fun of me again I see, I guess it’s the only kind of argument you can provide since there’s nothing else.

The centaur casting Chant of Death or something (the giant green circle) in NO were great for that, you couldn’t see half of the aoe on the slope lol
