Tried healing for a while but its too stressful for me. Decided to leave it to the more competent.
When I started playing wow on a private server (end of TBC, WotLK), I was a PvP rogue for a long time. Then I wanted to try something completely different and picked a PvE healing priest … and I’ve been a healing priest ever since.
I found healing in dungeons a lot more engaging than DPSing. It made me feel a lot more useful than a DPS. Eventually, I made it to my guild’s raids and because there is always a healer shortage I quickly retired my rogue and became a full-time raid healer to meet the needs of my guild.
Healers are their own team in the raid, co-ordinating our cooldowns depending on what was gonna happen, deciding who prioritizes what people etc. was fun and seeing our plan come to fruition was very satisfying.
Nowadays, I don’t have time to raid. But I still main a healer in group content for the perks of short queues, low requirements and extra rewards.

Oh come on, you can heal just fine! Especially when im on my pala and just stand in all the fire!

For me it was being able to play farmville during dungeons in the days healers didn’t need to dps yet

Eh.
That’s because people just die in higher keys if they don’t press their defensives/interrupts and so on.
I was going to tank a +13 academy, not heal it. “Remember to use defensives” I say before we start the bird boss. Then they’re not kicking the last ball in, I’m like “for [redacted] sake” and give the healer sac. He lives, everyone else died without pressing ANYTHING. The blame goes to who? The healer. Why? Because they died. These DPS should just stay away from attempting keys higher than 10s, lmao.
Not main’d healing since the end of MoP but since the dawn of MMOs and RPGs in general I’ve typically played the support role.

I thought being able to turn into a tree(ant) was the funniest thing in a world, so I had to learn the spec to do it.
2 expacs later they took i away from me and while they have given the form back, its not really been the same since.
