What races would you like to see playable?

My race suggestion:

Naga
Saberon
Botani
Man’ari Eredar (allied race or skin color, maybe wings?)
Mantid (would be the first truly unique nonhuman race, like the Vulpera)

Well, as a matter of fact, none looking at how they butchered most allied races, is kinda a shame they just don’t put any effort into it, i would love for them to polish current allied races then proceed to make new

The ones we already have… minus any and all of their racials, so we actually get to SEE some of them in this boring min-maxing society! :+1:

Anything with actual feet that can be a Paladin on Horde. :woman_shrugging:

E: Besides BE, obviously.
E²: Real feet don’t stick out of shoes.

blood elves have normal feet…

And so do Zandalari. Tauren are the only ones with hooves…

As for the topic:
Alliance:
Vrykul, (actually proper) high elves, Arrakoa

Horde:
Ogres, (the chunky) Forest Trolls, Taunka.
Oh, and Night elf options for Nightborne (minus the night warrior and naturey stuff, since NB are everything but in synch with nature) and make normal trolls pallies as well. Kimbul exists…

Naga and Taunka would probably be my main picks out of races that are least a little likely.

Less likely picks would have to be Sethrakk and Saurok. Where are our scaley bois blizzard?

Also extremely controversial pick, probably not as a separate race but rather as customization options - Worgen being able to be different races when in their original “humanoid” form. Night Elf worgen with purple-ish fur to match would be awesome.

Murlocs. Nothing else needs to be said.

Arrakoa, Ogres, Saberon, Vrykul.

Playable Gnolls for Horde.

They scorned us, they invaded, they took our ancestral lands, they mock us, and make -us- seem like the Vermin who do not belong here. They took from us, Everything! And they did not know it’s Value.
I say it is time we take something back, and teach them it’s Value…”

-Fangore the Younger.

So work with this, game mechanics first. The model exists. A Gnoll basically uses the Tauren male skeleton model, scaled down. They would be easy to implement.
Starting zone? The Badlands.
Racial Mount? One of those horrible Desert Lion type creatures, more like Skar than Musafa.

Racials? A form of Cannibalise, they are Hyena people after all
Resistance to Poison effects. (not immunity, but less overall damage from them)
Hideous Yowl. With a Cooldown, the Gnoll may issue their horrific cackling laughter, either causing an Interrupt, or Root effect for a short duration.

Why Horde?
Because they hate Humans. Stormwind is built on Gnoll bones, it is gnoll land, the gnolls are the rightful inhabitants of Elwynn and Redridge.

Aren’t Gnolls stupid?
Apparently not, they seem perfectly capable to work with others as we see in several of the pirate crews and Venture Company and other such organisations, they have their own internal society, and for that matter, just look at ‘Sayge’ at Darkmoon Faire. He ain’t exactly thick, and seems perfectly eloquent.

Racial slant?
Many of the races on both factions are based on real life cultures, and the Gnolls could be so also, make them based on the cultures that live cheek by jowl with them in our real world, and have so many legends of them. Zulu and Masai culture.
To a Gnoll, everything has Value. Value is key, in both life and death, in life a Gnoll is expected to be of Value to their ‘Impi’ (Tribe) in death, their body is to be rendered down to better serve the Impi. The same is true of foreigners, non Gnolls, even most enemies. What humans misunderstand as the hideous cackling laughter is part war cry, part pre-emptive thanks to their foe, for the Value they will add to the tribe.
Nothing. No one, goes to waste.

People will see a Gnoll tent, made of leather, with a face on it still and revulse in horror, but they do not realise this is an act of respect. Unlucky is the Gnoll pup who does not emerge from such a tent of a morning and -not- give thanks to the foe that gave their skin to make it, for they will be boxed around the ears. “How dare you! Ingrate! Everything has Value, that is not -your- tent, that is Lieutenant Jonathan Parker’s tent! That is his skin, his face, His leather that keeps you warm each night! When you rise each morning you will thank him by name! For Shame, what do they teach pups these days?”

Everything has Value.

Bones can be used for armour and rites, sinews and muscles for bowstrings, skin for leather, and the flesh, well, let us just say that a Gnoll ‘Impi’ rarely moves on an empty stomach.

Three major castes could make up Gnoll society.

Rainmakers are the fighters, the hunters, the brutal side of the Impi, as their name suggests, they make the rain fall, in the form of tears from those left behind after their raids. They are exuberant, and fond of taking trophies, but equally aware their own fangs or heads may be taken as trophies also.

Bonespeakers are the Wise Ones, the Shamans, the councillors and guides, their rites are arcane and often involve the bones, brains and eyes of vanquished enemies, they keep the history.

Marrowtalkers are those between, the rogues and scouts, and also interestingly the legal side of the Impi, they understand tribal law, and can act as witnesses to oaths, arbiters in disputes, it is bad form to interrupt a Marrowtalker when they are acting in such a capacity, they also perform other, less public roles, and are as close to Gnolls get as some sort of ‘Intelligence agency’

Come on, tell me that ain’t cool?

I hope they don’t make any of the Shadowlands covenant ‘races’ playable… just because it wouldn’t make sense, like you’re dead but can go back to Azeroth? That being said we’ve travelled to the Shadowlands and put portals up in Oribos, so it could happen. In that case I would like Venthyr. Although they would have to walk round with an umbrella in the day time! Maybe that could be a racial, like the sun doesnt actually do anything debuffy, but umbrella increases your stats by X amount.

Other than that, Tuskarr! We have pandas, warewolves, big eared fox type things, cows and moose. Why not walruses xD
