Shamans have always been OP as hell.
Probably because some it’s some of the developers mains and the whole green jesus thing they had going on with thrall.
Bard is pretty OP.
That or whatever class is available for 2 headed ogres.

Leveling as guardian. Tough and has good abilities that helps a lot. Stuff like stealth (prowl), underwater breathing (travel form), fast flee from enemies (switch to travel form while in combat), fall damage reduction (cat form), faster indoor movement speed (cat form) and even slow fall (only in Balance spec)

WQ as Balance or Feral. Damage is decent and can kill enemies quite effectively.

Dungeon and raid as resto. Can heal quite well for both AoE and single target. Shorter LFR and LFD ques.
- The races suck, but the benefits makes up for it.

It really depends on what you want to do. PvP or PvE or a bit of both? Do you like tanking, healing or dps?
Answering those questions will narrow down your class choice by quite a lot. For example if you only want to dps, then go for a pure dps class where you have more options to try different dps speccs. If you don’t like tanking, but you would like to occasionally try heals… well that should narrow it down a bit more.
Personally I really like rogue, because its very fun in PvP although I mainly play PVE the PvP aspect was still very important to me. Also, stealth is probably the best and the most fun ability in the game in my opinion.
However, if you want to play a class that is favoured by blizzard then go druid or mage… hunter is normally a solid choice as well.
If you wanna play for flavour and a quirky toolkit then I really recommend warlocks, they are a lot of fun too.
Monk… duh. This is my main - with over 100 days played - FOR A REASON! My other 6 high lvl alts barely have 40 days combined.
