I am actually devastated that is the way things are going for him. Running round Drustvar with him was the highlight of BfA for me. It pretty much solidified him as my favourite character. I am hoping that he is off doing his own thing , maybe taking over the Venture Company now Razdunk is dead and he outright owns Crapoplis. Like I can’t see doing the whole Jailer/Sylvanas thing as being particularly lucrative now so why would he stay? That could just be my very wishful thinking though.

As tricky as it is I liked him as a faction leader because he’s a rare example of someone who has the job because of material power and political power (if you can call it that with goblins) rather than being a war hero, or someone widely beloved, or just someone amazingly powerful, as in magic or strength. I mean Gallywix is clearly smart, and back in his day he was a pretty good brawler allegedly, but he’s no Saurfang obviously, nor Malfurion, Tyrande, he’d probably lose in a faction leader brawl because all of his power is instrumental rather than natural. Couple that with the fact that a majority of the race accept he’s in charge but don’t really like him, and it makes it refreshing as opposed to people like Lor, Thrall, Vol’jin etc whom are represented as being widely respected by their races. Even though sylv isn’t respected by all, the forsaken owe her their very existence, so she’s kinda de facto leader.
Gallywix has done no such things for Goblins. He’s done it for himself. He is in charge simply because he has more money, more troops, more weapons and less morals than other goblin trade princes and individuals whom could have prised the cartel from him, not because he’s the best thing for goblinkind or they voted him in. Ironically this is exactly why he says in his memoirs why he believes he’s the very best example of what a goblin is and why he has risen to such a high position from his starting place.
That’s why I liked him. Gazlowe is cool but he’s like other faction leaders in being a “really good” example of his race, and whom is generally seen as cool, and his strengths outweigh his flaws. The opposite to Gallywix, which is a shame.
I hope they don’t kill G off, have him commandeer other cartels and the act as a venture co esq thorn in our side/ occasional ally from here on out.
The fact that Gazlowe gets the gig because of Horde suggestions is ludicrous. That’s never been how Goblin politics works. There should have been a mini scenario where we have to support Gazlowes bid to “take” the vacancy via bribes, offing competition, etc. Going against folks like Noggenfogger, Pozzik, Boss Mida, etc.
