It kills the social part of meeting up with you’r group. Your probably not old enough to remember pre-shadowlands wow - why post you’re opinion??
How? It’s not automatic, LFG is looking for group but instead of spamming chat you post a group in the tool. You still have to form the group and meet up with each other. You must be thinking of LFD which puts a group together automatically and teleports you to the dungeon.

It’s basically a message board. No automation involved.
It existed back in TBC but nobody used it, but with the amount of idiotic spam in LFG maybe it would be useful now.
I am absolutely certain it is extremely vulnerable to people making proper LFG Retail like tools. It will transform the game into Mythic group finder hideousness.
It wasn’t used back in the day; yet in 2021 you’ll get the Classic Wreckers come in and try and turn it into Retail.
You just see how much further TBC will descend if they add that.

I imagine that the LFG page would be full of SELLING BOOTS and CHEAP GOLD. Hopefully you won’t be able to write comments and only list your role and preferred dungeons.
It was a tool back then, it should be a tool now. There is no valid reason why they shouldn’t
add it and I don’t know wtf they are waiting for.
They should add it asap. I heard they are …improving it. Well, that’s even better. We need it!

They are not ‘waiting’, it’s just not ready yet. And GM said they also can’t give ETA. So, in my opinion, atleast 2 month before we get LFG back.

Wait what, how much TBC did you play? I played TBC all the time after school and there was always groupes for Shadowfang Keep, Deadmines, Maraudon, Ulduman, Scarlet Monastery and Wailing Caverns.
Or there was groupes for elite quest or pugs for raids.
It was easy and you could write what you needed from the dungon and what you would give for it.
But where is OLD TBC original LFG?
The amount of people confusing LFD and LFG…

From this comment it seems you are just in blind hype train but don’t remember (or havent even saw?) how it actually was. #nochanges goes both ways.
I don’t think most of them even played TBC, that’s why they have no idea what this discussion is about. It’s just popular now to go “anti-retail”, but the closer classic gets to newer x-pacs - more of these confusions will rise.
It is by no means an ideal solution, but this addon:

at least hides the LFG spam into a separate chat tab and aggregates all the groups into a neat list. It’s basically one half of the LFG interface where you at least see the dungeon groups sorted in a comprehensive table.
This by no means lifts the responsibility off Blizzard to implement the improved LFG interface that belongs into TBC and that they promissed us.
