There’s not one version off wow thats remotely balanced - Retail should have sorted that out years ago but there still people complaining about meta only groups /broken builds /OP class’s etc.
It’s part of their game making philosophy (i think), there must be meta over powered class’s and there must be useless ones, and then swap them around every now an again to spice things up.
Either that or they hired someone who failed at numbers at school.
That is mostly a community issue. To balance the game in such a way that there is no difference whatsoever between classes, while at the same time retaining what makes each class unique is nigh impossible. There will always be some difference in performance.
The issue is that no matter how small that difference is: if there is a difference the community will only want the class that is marginally better than the rest which are labeled as useless. Even if a class or spec is only 0.1% better than an alternative, the players will see that it’s on top of some chart and refuse to invite anything else.
Problem is that they said on interviews that they are not doing sod for a classic + beta or changes towardsthat type of server.
They just wanted to try a season and do crazy stuff they couldnt do on a live server. Or was never allowed to.
Problem now is that in retail (yes i do play retail) is out of balance right now.
Its not 0.1% difference.
It was more of 10% or even double aoe damage than other classes.
So people have been questioning if they actually have someone that test classes etc.
The problem is that you take this out of context and twist the meaning.
What they really said is that a season is the best way for experiments with players participating from the beginning. There is no product with already implemented features to call it a beta. It’s an experiment to collect data and feedback.
They also confirmed that SoD is a testbed for a future version of classic. (without saying classic+). They also answered to classic+ questions "We cannot announce anything yet, but why do you think we are doing all this?) "
No they did not.
People asked that kind of question during the interviews and they said : “sod will have nothing to do with classic +” but you are correct that they said that they cannot confirm or deny about a classic + server in the future.
I’d assume that is after tier 3, if it happens at all.
Exactly, they have no reason to devalue Naxx but upgrade Classic with Crypts and new Tier in future phase.
People need to chill and let them cook.
ngl i was expecting new stuff along with the expected content we would get every phase/patch.
so when MC came out, i expected a 2nd raid to do.
what we got was a new dungeon and world boss “raids”.
when bwl came out we got… err… nothing new.
10 man zg doesnt count. they actually made that “raid” worse imo.

I still think if we’re going to get Karazhan Crypts, it’ll be after Naxx.
Atiesh makes a portal to Karazhan, so it’d make the most sense.
