Where's all my Gen Z players at?!

I get called a boomer, even if I am gen x according to graph. I just take it as a meme I guess, although I still have to google meme from time to time to see if I still get the meaning.

Zoomer where I live is slang for idiot.
And it predates gen z, millennial etc etc

Someone does something stupid -
ā€œYa effin zoomerā€ (hope that’s not classed as working round censors, just illustrating the point!)

Technically yes it’s circumventing.

Whether or not it will be noticed or reported is another thing.

The game is old and i guess doesnt draw that many new players, its mostly same players since vanil that come and go. Pvp for one is not very friendly for new players so it makes sense why playerbase are just same ppl that keep getting older with the game

i think legion did attract a lot of new players with m+ but nothing that big came since and yes it is old . other games that offers better story(not the overall story) / combat / accountwide progress etc. are more appealing to our generation. my friends also keep saying it’s too late to start playing wow no matter how hard i try to convince them that it’s not. so many addons , ui extentions etc. makes the game look overcomplicated to outsiders

I really enjoyed legion class hall wise and class mechanics but i didnt start m+ till bfa tho which found really fun for a time. your friends are right its alot effort to start from scratch with all wa, addons and looking up on everything but im also kinda glad that we can customize even tho it would be better if alot of it were also default like more customizable nameplates for one, i think its really bad that we need addons for nameplates because the default customizations for it are like nonexistent

when you watch wow and other games on twitch for 5 mins each, wow looks 100000x more complicated even tho it isn’t , the ui bloat is a big ick for new players , having to worry about all the things you listed when you can just log in and play the x mmo is just so much mess.

Without going too much into specifics one of the problem currently is that were losing possible new healers weekly from the game, game is not made equal for healers related pvp or m+ and once new players find it out they fade away or rotate towards dps roles that find the game more fun atm. In pvp they are rewarded less rating for their effort compared to dps in the shuffles and in m+ they are shoved more tasks to handle compared to dps, I can only imagine any new player trying anything as heal and immediately be put off from it. Its not good designing nor fair and playerbase will stay stagnant like this.

I bet most of Gen Z is probably busy playing Fortnite and Genshin impact between twitting about how the depiction of beautiful women in fiction is bad for the world

this is like saying everyone over 30 is a classic andy

To be honest I would be thrilled to learn that WoW manages still to attract younger players to fill the void the old guard leaves

Its weary to see dps perhaps being new but healers are always some veteran no matter the mmr so youre always playing in deflation and sweating no matter what mmr as dps / heal mmrs are separated in ss and your only playing against the healer for your gains with this shuffle example that mostly rewards dps and as such the situation regards new healers remain and were losing possible new players from the game weekly. Sadly I cant see new players drawn into the game as it is now, I hear its more or so same for m+ so playerbase remain stagnant regards heals atleast.

You missed yu-gi-oh and PokƩmon cards on the school play ground.

I remember taking care of my tamagotchi in between lessons in highschool. He died of old age in the end, happy and content. It was a rough day.

Like the playerbase in wow eventually if we lack gain new blood in :joy:

Ps. also had tamagotchi but cant recall what happent to it, I think it got forgotten into some drawer and lost in time eventually. Shame

Yep… I’m not sure if it’s fully fixable, altho some things definitely could be tweaked to make the new player experience at least somewhat more seamless at max level.

But in a way it might be as hopeless as a 50 year old adopting the wardrobe and vocabulary of a 20 year old, with the idea they are now hip!

Well atleast they were content for playing wow 20-30 years in the end

RIP

A friend of mine gave it to me, she had no use for it. And then once I had started, I could of course not let the poor thing starve and wither away. We were 17 or 18 at that point so I got laughed at by my friends regularly for diligently taking care of my lil digimonster in the breaks lol.
