Which spec has the highest skill ceiling?

I’ve said prot warrior is kinda bad because we’re lacking of stats.

As regarding dps warrior, arms is really easy, whereas fury is just hard because it requires a good keyboard shreddin.

Of course all the specs I play. Resto and elemental shaman.

It depends how high is the ceiling in the room your char is standing in :pig:

I know that you’re clearly trolling, but the variance of skill between players is enourmous.

Mhm, apart from the fact that the main burst rotation is very defined. It’s just a matter of practise, practise and practise until you dream that rotation.

The non-bite Feral spec (somewhere pre-Legion) was probably a nice example of a high ceiling spec. I never played it but Demo always seems quite tricky too.

Honestly, i think the bleed feral at the start of legion was boring, more than difficult, super punishing. There we no big reactions to do, you just had to plan really really well so you never dropped rake and rip, because otherwise you would be punished a lot. Let’s say that you did a mistake and used bite instead of rip, that would instantly drop your dps by quite a bit since it would take a long time to get back to 5 cp.

But so boring.

Haven’t played retri pala this expansion, but frost dk makes sense since you got to time as many things possible into your buffs, which got relatively short cooldowns.

Feral feels like it got one button too much.

I’d say affli is hardest to master but demo is for sure the most unforgiving spec if you miss CD lineups due to movement/cc.

Should be WW’s and then ferals. Pre-Feral rework it was by far the hardest to play.

Although, im waiting again for a fire mage to tell us that their spec is high skill cap caster when they cast while blinking or jumping

Disc priest is a top contender for high skill ceiling imho.
You have to predict when the group will take the damage to make the best use of it.
You have to both do a DPS rotation and also keep atonement applied to players. It does not get any more schizophrenic than that

This is why I stick to Holy outside of Torgast for now.

If there is any high end PvE Disc priest around here: Hats off to you good sir/madam, you are a champ.

Disc probably that and maybe mistweaver / r-druid to a degree with PVP at least has to require some understanding on positioning / over extending since they can be punished much harder than a priest/pala/sham.

I wouldn’t say there are any dps classes right now which are considered “hard” its more of a case of, how handicapped do you want to be.

Hardest spec is lead game designer.

In my personal opinion, WW monk. Not because it has a really hard rotation, because in the hands of a poor dps, the class does trash dps… But in the hands of someone who is experienced you they can easily top the charts.
I mean I perssonally am the former, I am nowhere near close to my monk’s potential as I could be.

Keyword “could” because I dont want to. I really dont like PVE centric content.

Sounds a bit like sub rogue, whereas outlaw rogues get away very easily with just smashing their keyboards randomly ^^ On the other hand, Outlaw requires much higher APM than other classes/speccs if you want to perfect it.

However, the question really depends on the content and the player. For example hunters are generally easy to play in PVE, but have a very high skill ceiling in PvP.

In terms of the player it may depend on for example, if their weak side is control, switching targets and timing or if it is the speed of their fingers.

I’m inclined to say outlaw rogue out of experience, even though I don’t think it is.

I’ve been doing tons of keys, on this rogue and on my alts out of every 50+ rogues only 1 or 2 are able to actually perform.

For comparison, I do 6-7k+ overall dps, meanwhile most rogues I’ve met at +11-17 range do 3-5k dps, even if they have good gear.

This is ontop of the fact that most these rogues barely if ever use their toolkit ( gouge / blind / kidney / distract / Vanish > cheapshot if needed / feint before AoE dam hits / etc )

Rogue is nearly in all top runs atm, due to how good they are, but you hardly ever find rogues in queue and if you do they perform bad which makes the community perception of them actually super bad ( At 1.5k rio I still get in trouble getting into keys! ) , and as such I have to say that getting the potential out of rogue right now is super hard.

probably holy or disc priests or some rogue specc. But honestly i wouldnt say sub rogues as that was the overpowered insta kill specc not that long ago

I mean… you are referring to a meme build that required a lot of setup and I’m also assuming that you are just referring to PvP. In arena sub rogue + fire mage is probably the hardest comp to play as it requires much more coordination and knowledge of your opponents than any other comp.

Affliction warlocks hands down in both Raids and M+

I don’t think there are difficult specs anymore. The skill ceiling is definitely not very high this time around. But personally I didn’t quite click with a disc.
