WHY are cloaks dropping?!

They should make an option to choose one kind of item that you don’t want to see in the vault at least

Sorry but I just have to ask - what exactly is the issue to you here?
Judging from your post, you’re basically a solo player who only does Delves. You can complete the highest Tier of Delves with Champion gear easily.

What exactly is the big fuss about not getting close to full mythic tier items when you’re just doing Delves?

I get it for Raiders and M+ players because they NEED the gear to push further/higher and to stay competitive. But Delves diffculty has a hard and pretty early cut off, which doesn’t require close to being full mythic.

I mean I understand why it’s annoying but I honestly don’t see the big dealbeaker here as long as you’re having fun doing the content.

I seek to become king of the casuals but if I do hardcore gearing I will no longer be a casual

tongue in cheek aside, if you look at my armory you can see I already completed t11 season 3 in full season 2 gear

if I follow this logic, I was already done with season 3 before the season even started. I doubt blizzard would agree with this notion if we’d present it too them.

I’ll isolate your main question to answer it in isolation of this logic tho

That no matter how much time I will invest, I will not reach a ‘done’ state before the season is over and everything gets reset to base again.

EDIT:
Moving this part to the next post cause that makes more sense

I didn’t but I’m aware of the fact that this is possible as one of my friends already has done the same. I used Champ gear as an example with below average players in mind.

If Delves is all you do then… yes… kinda. Unforutnately.

It’s a sentiment I do understand since I’m in the same boat. I’m basically just playing M+ and without raiding, I’ll never get to the “BiS done state” no matter how hard I try.

On the other hand, I don’t even look at gear as a “target” or motivator. To me it’s basically just a tool, like a screwdriver. I need better gear to push higher keys as much as I need a screwdriver for a screw. I’m not buying the screwdriver in order to be happy about having it, I buy it in order to accomplish my goal of driving in the screw.

That being said - I know that there are A LOT of people whos entire checklist just consists of “gear”, which is valid. I just never really understood it tbh, thus my question.

Yeah nw I didn’t assume you had thats why I made the suggestion.

As for being done with delves before the season started, I’m gonna go paste pervious posts edit here again:

I am also going to say with some confidence that blizzard themselves do not design the game anymore around a ‘only getting the gear to complete the content you expose yourself too’.

Obviously they want us to take part on the crest gear upgrade hamsterwheel and well, that delve hamsterwheel stopped almost immediately in S1 when people completed their champion track gear (you got so little gilded crests that it wasn’t even worth upgrading more then 2 items, meaning the best method for delvers was to ignore the fact that the gilded crests even existed).

Now however with S2, I was busy until the last week of the season, which means I was also subbed until the last week of of the season.

If I had to make a guess, that’s why they added so much gilded crest rewards in S2.

In my ideal world we would see the end of seasons, new raids would still bump the ilvl rewards (and difficulty scaling) of everything up but without indirectly downgrading all gear you had gotten in the previous season (by buffing everything but you)

And understandable, I’ll try to explain it as best I can: for me its more of a matter of I don’t want to do anything if I don’t get what I want out of it, for delves that was gear, but I also have other modes of content I do for lets say transmog or mounts, so to me delving with the gear not being the reward would be the same as me running a legacy raid I already have all the collectables from

RP is my form of group content and in terms of fun extracted vs time invested, it blows raids and dungeons out of the park with ease, delves honestly are just the only real way I am interacting with the game element of the game, something I had missed doing ever since M+ was introduced and random battlegrounds died by negligence

Delves was a peek back into that world , but I am also too goal oriented to do start a project (S3 gearing) without knowing for sure if I can see it through to the end.

Its about justifying a time investment to myself, basically.

the box from completing the raid quest can also contain cloaks for max lvls, i got one myself thus making the whole thing a waste of my time

Absolutely. It’s quite obvious Blizzard is designing this game to keep player interaction active per week. All the timegating in this game doesn’t serve any real purpose other than prolonging the time people stay subbed. They claim they do that in order to make the game more casual friendly but I call BS here.

They’d could at least make the insane power creep between tiers less extreme imo. There’s just no need to jump 40 to 50ilvl each patch.

Understandable. There needs to be some incentive to run the content. For M+ it’s gear and rating at a certain point, for raiding it’s gear and achievements. Delves basically offer just gear with just a few achievements afaik.

That being said - Delves are somewhat new and I’m sure they’ll expand further on them since they seem to be rather well received. For the time being though, there is not much content available in Delves, I agree.

Ironically they say the upgrade system is casual friendly but meanwhile they have to add discounts for alts to incentivize people playing them to begin with. Personally I don’t really bother after s1 with alts cause its just too much effort to update them to a playable state.

A shrinking of ilvl leaps between seasons would get the same thing done yeah, that’s my main gripe with the seasons to begin with, as well as the main reason why I don’t play alts beyond first seasons.

And yeah it definately feels like they are still working on Delves, at the beginning of S2 I noticed the improvement in the reward system.

At the very least it has proven itself to captivate the attention of enough people to justify it generating vault slots, so as a platform I hope they stay and I feel like they have proven themselves, now its just the actual content you see on that platform of delves that could use some improving or more investment yeah, with the retention it held itd be worth it

Received hero track cloak from Ulduar TW, why is this a thing? 68 billion USD company and they cannot remove cloaks from the item pool it’s insane

Because Bli$$ard is milking this game till they can. After that they will just shut down the servers…

Blizzard are trolling. Just like with belts. Two weeks, two belts from the worldboss… Garbage.

I dropped 2 cloaks this day only , one from timewalking raid and the other one from finishing the TW quest , all are useless.

I personally don’t understand the completely idiotic logic of Blizzard or the plain laziness to do something about it, but same here. In just last week, I had like seven important drops as Waist pieces. What for?? Reminds me of those stupid, never-ending useless trinkets from the Great Vault in season 2. They know that people are “addicted” to the game, so they won’t protest or stop playing, which is a shame. So idiotically wasted time on attempts to make our gear better. Today I got leather shoes (as a warrior who uses plate), while I have no leather gear character at all. But at least I spent 30 minutes waiting for a group of people so we could kill that big blue dragon in K’aresh. Can’t they design some “5-minute algorithm” implemented into the game that can check what I already have on me and what’s my type of gear? (plate, leather, etc). This game makes you absolutely waste your time and life with time consuming tasks that are then “sickly” rewarded for your time and effort. Very bad design.

my hunter got belt my dh got cloak and pala got cloak too

at this point i think its deliberate to stop people from skiping to yogg

it is a next level trolling - i would know

Same here, got cloak from second last boss, and another cloak in the Hero chest… wth is up with that

I haven’t used the official WoW forums in what must be close to 10 years, but I came here specifically to complain about this. Got a belt on my DK. This is not okay. Is Blizz going to do anything about this or? My DK has already had the worst luck this season with this stupid loot box luck-based system, and the belt felt being kicked when I’m already down. I’m really, really unhappy about his.

Items and Rewards

  • Timewalking Raids (including the Timewalking quest cache) no longer drop cloaks.

Apparently the issue was hotfixed. Any chance of retroactive fixes for those unfortunate “beta testers” who were affected by this oversight?
