I got the following reasons why barely anyone plays a male draenei:
Male draenei’s walking and running animation looks clunky and clumsy.
Male draenei look way too buff for an alliance race. Wise mages look strange when they look like pumped in steroids. Hence people want a slimmer body version like Velen.
Male draenei have that chub tail on PTR like wtf were they thinking!? They need LONGER and more dynamic looking tail!
Speaking of tails, their tails look too stiff, so the animation as a whole looks like your character has tetanus.
I used to main a male Draenei Hunter. I turned him into a ‘Fel Hunter’ using the TBC dark pvp set, because it was the ONLY armor set in which he looked like a badass.
Sadly, one gets bored of a character that looks bad in 99% of armor sets.
Male Draenei body build is just a huge no for some…and no matter how much I love him as a character, I just can’t get to play him anymore
Broad shoulders, wide body, thin legs that look somewhat short compared to the rest of the body because of how they ‘fold’…tail should also be much longer, they also have no neck…
I really wish male Draenei looked more like artwork from Maraad’s Warlords cinematic or just borrowed the rig from male Fauns now.
I’ve done artwork of my character in what would seem like a normal body build. It’s how I always wanted him to be
As somebody with a male draenei hunter, the females just look so much better. I have 3 female draenei (1 lightforged and 2 normal) and one male on this account.
Their shape is just bizarre… That gigantic test on those tiny legs, it makes no sense.
Probably doesn’t help that their stance has that holier than thou feeling to it either.
All of my Draenei are male. I like the female Draenei too and have no personal problem with them, but they have a certain… reputation that I don’t like associating with.
I personally like the males more anyway. For me, the more space a race takes up on my screen, the more I like them, as it means I can micromanage my t-mogs and make something that can truly be seen. Male Draenei definitely take up a lot of space. I have a feeling they’d have to buy two plane tickets just for themselves if they were travelling somewhere.
I will admit though, they’re a challenge to t-mog. It’s hard to find designs that fit them lorewise or that look good. I often just end up wearing full sets with mine.
Because they are oversized and don’t really fit in the themes that the armours in wow usually aim for(which explains why tauren is oversized but it works. I mean why would an advance alien would wear armour like medieval ages, some futuristic type of armour looks good on them(like some paladin ones in legion) but the rest just looks weird.
