Why blizz is losing money

Dumbfounded on what they were thinking in regards to dailies. Only reason the system was critically acclaimed in Legion was because the party finder made it easy to group up and finish the tedious ones quickly. Without the easy party finder in BFA most pretty much stuck to the kill one elite dailies.

And in this expansion, both of those are completely gone leaving us with the most disliked dailies reminiscent of those we had in WoD.

pretty sure all were laid off and the last man standing is working on the next expac already, otherwise this clown fiesta couldn’t be explained in the slightest

I used to love Kirin Tor dailies and world elite 1 kill quest .
I rather do 8 quests like those for a calling then the 3 we have now which suck .

yes while that is true, IF they had a good game that would increase sub numbers AND they had their current model where they sell trash to the whales, they would grab even more money.

I mean if
2 mio people sub and by 2 mio worth of trash you could guess that 12.5 mio subs maybe buy 6 mio worth of trash.
You not only got more sub money but also more trash money just by the amount of more whales that you most likely got as well.

maybe it is just americans business strategy that is out of my mind and they just want to milk the game dry while doing nothing and hope they miraculous get a new game that makes more money while doing nothing before the old one is dead?

So true and alliance are bleeding more and more players.
Even big Ali servers are getting smaller.
Ravencrest for example has had a few guilds move to Tarren Mill thats ÂŁ46 per char to move server and faction .

would like to see the numbers of people actually doing these callings.
I think I stopped doing any of the dailies about 2 weeks into the game as they provide basically nothing.
I am not unhappy with this as it is trash content anyways.
The only time I really ever do it is when it rewards renown and I am 1 renown away from the next important step or something.

None of them are fun not even the flying school ones .
They seem to have lost there way with dailies .

I mean dailies were never ever fun, it was something to kill time while working towards a reward or something.
In shadowlands there is not even a reward for doing this.

As said, I am happy about it as it is the first expac that i genuinely do not need to care about any rep grinds. Since the maw is such a giant fail, I don’t even bother that there is a reward for rep because it is not account bound and I cba even stepping foot in this trash zones, even if i could mount.

At this point… I god to honest, miss the turtles…
:ocean: :turtle:

But in a little - very little, mind you - deffense of the SL WQ, there are quite a few quickies; the arena rare, the corpse marking, torch running, forgemaster defending, flywing riding, kyrian carpet bombing, slime gathering… and thats in just maldraxxus
Other realms have their own quick and short WQs , but there are tons of others I wouldn’t poke with a stick…
Still, these are not turtle/kirin tor or 1 rare WQs…

The little sweet turtles and helping them in the maze and doing matching pairs and perfect circle!

nobody ever will miss beachhead or cycle of life

the others weren’t that bad.
Generally bfa WQs were fine because they were mostly quickly. But you didn’t do them because of fun, you did them because of azerite or gear for new chars

B-but I do!
I loved them, was a nice change after the monotone mob killing

sad fox face

Blizzard are slow to tune and balance the content and classes because of their design philosophies and company culture. It’s not because they lack people or money. They’re just slow because they think being thorough and discussing everything through a million times over yields the best results, as opposed to rushing the first and most obvious solution out the door.

Blizzard are slow by intent. It’s no accident or because they’re lacking money or developers. It’s simply their way of doing things.

BFA wq were the best . Mostly single target or fun match games.

or not doing things.

I know fairly well why they do things and why they don’t.
Mostly it is american big business culture.
Blizzard built up a huge water head that has no arms and legs anymore.
If you got devs or not does not matter at this point anymore because a 1% tuning change has to go through 20 departments filing 500 documents.
so a) they don’t even bother to address changes because too much hassle and b) it takes forever

sad enough. Their company culture is terrible. According to reports their company environment is also bad and they are underpaid

you cannot even say they are sorrow and they plan things out well because if you look that the changes that they do make, they tend to be pretty brainless and you want to facepalm 24/7

Or you could teach them to get better without having to worry that you can’t complete the dungeon / raid because of them; … but hey, that would be social.

Hadn’t thought I could ever throw that sentence at someone, but “WoW is an MMORPG after all, so socialize and talk to people” instead of looking down at them.

Are they losing money though? I mean does anyone have any -actual- evidence to back this up, or is it just more graphs from third party websites?

That’s also a decision.

That’s not an American thing though. I’ve worked for a major toy company and its approval process was long and windy as well. It’s a natural consequence of a company growing larger - it turns into an elephant and loses the agility and quick adaptation and speed that smaller companies have.
That’s just how it is.
And from my own experience, then large companies do try to counter this slowing down of processes (mails, meetings, and time allocated to both, for example).

It’s just not so easy.

I generally agree with the OP as a casual myself and I would guess the vast majority of players are casuals. But because of the small number of elite players who, presumably, are bringing something to the game though I’m not sure what, they are trying to cater for 2 completely disparate groups wanting completely different things. They are never going to be able to keep both groups completely happy so they try to go for middle ground which means neither is happy.
As for me … I miss the Nazjatar puzzle dailies though a lot of the SL dailies are ok and I don’t mind doing them more than once so long as there’s a decent reward.

This.

There is no middle ground. Blizzard should simply cater fully to casual and have hardcore stuff in game but only as afterthought, not as a main focus.

I used to have fun in game, tho I raided mythic, until I realized all my casual friends quit and it was friends that made this game enjoyable. Not banging my head against wall for months.
