in the beginning yeah. Later in the expansion they were the faceroll heroics we know now
Only casuals who enjoy the gutted class design of Legion and BFA can have the nerve to call Cataclysm and WoD the âworst expansionsâ
you mean the âbest expansionâ because cataclysm is exactly where the game started to get gutted in. Cata is the worst expansion. legion second worst and wod 3rd worst. People who praise legion actually seem to be the ones wich liked cata
BFA is the worst among them! By miles.
i forgot about the current one yeah. But yeah bfa is 3rd worst for me then. WoD was a good questing experience and zone design for me atleast. But legion and cata are still worse
I only disliked last half of cata (I hated DS as a raid).
On the topic : Cata is both good and awful at the same time. They tried a lof of things that turned out to be failures (Under water zone, 3D raid boss, leveling revamp) but on the same time, raids were good, class design was solid too.
Itâs just a half decent expansion.
Because the original beautiful Kalimdor experience died. I want the original Thousand Needles back! I want the old Orgrimmar back.
VashjĂr depends on the person. The zone itself wasnât bad. But it would have been nice to get the underwater mounts far more quickly. Especially some very fast one. also a flightmaster whistle would have been great in such a zone
They compared it to the previous expansions that they liked better.
But if we compare it to what we have today itâs safe to say itâs good.
Bad bad bad, i like just firelands⌠In fact Legion was the last good exp
Cata was okay. A huge letdown coming from Wrath. But it was okay. I did end up going on a long break towards the end of the expansion.
Pretty much. Early launch was fantastic, the dungeons and raids were wonderfull. Firelands was fun outside of Thrall going from Moses to Jesus. But then there was Dragon Soul in which blizzard backpedaled on the difficulty and ended up making both the new dungeons and raid a bore.
Then they also decided to add LFR with a compromise to satisfy a certain group of vocal elitist, by gutting everything of mechanics from the Raid leaving us with an empty shell of a feature.
Because it destroyed Ashenvale and Darkshore
For many reasons but the prime one is that it wrecked the old levelling zones. I never forgave them for that.
I liked cata because I had a terrible accident around that time which took me out of commission and made me play wow as a distraction for the better part of 6 months. Finally was able to raid fulltime.
I quit because my old guild disbanded, most of my friends quit and the huge toxicity in the game. People were spoiled having easy heroic dungeons. Early cataclysm dungeons required some coordination and CC. I remember some of the packs of Grim Batol were quite hard as freshly dinged prot war (killed Lich King Heroic 10 man pre-nerf but didnât manage to do 25 man pre-nerf) and people just shouted and were sooo fâing toxic I was like: Iâm done, I really cba to play with such a toxic sh!tcommunity.
So thatâs kinda it I think the dungeons looked nice, the world wasnât too bad, pvp I canât tell, raids well I only did a few attempts on the first boss in Throne of the Winds canât tell that either.
I REALLY liked hyjal and vashjir, and to some extent twillight highlands, didnât care much for the rest. I think most old azeroth zones improved with the revamp. Dungeons were pretty cool. Donât have much to say about endgame as I didnât play much during the expansion.
Itâs interesting because I thought that zone was really good⌠once you had the buff so you moved faster and werenât drowning, it was as easy to get around as it is on land - plus you had all dimensions to work with
The reason I took a break in Cata (which I donât normally do) is that there was so little to do once you hit max level.
The harder dungeons werenât fun (not because of the dungeons per se but because of toxicity of pugging once everyone had gottne used to wrath).
My guild had gone very quiet so no raiding for me, not that I was a big raider in any case - Iâd done a few wings of Nax.
They realised their mistake and gave a LOT to do at max level in MOP. Perhaps they overcompensated with the number of dailies and got a lot of complaints. Which they then overcompensated back with no dailies in WOD.
I didnât play much Cata so I canât give an objective opinion.
I personally didnât like the theme of the expansion. Iâm not into fire dragons and stuff. Itâs a similar story with Legion. If I donât like the theme and story I donât put effort in the actual content.
