I see. Maybe it’d make sense narratively, if High/Blood elves merge back into the same thing and become neutral thalassians with Silvermoon as their capital. Seems very forced to have them separated. I feel like at some point they should forgive eachother, especially since they used to be united for 1000s of years quite recently, and they only split due to arthas wiping them almost out.
No more elves, blizzard… Please…
I am fine with void elves, but the reason is (those) players don’t want to play horde.
I have a blood elf paladin. I like him, but i don’t play him. Only did during BfA. Reason why is cause i really don’t like the horde cities and music/sounds. I did enjoy dazar’alor though. It was hell to navigate but it looked nice.
I really dislike going to Orimmar. The music is so grating and it looks like a dump. Everytime i go there i want to log off.
But anyways… dwarf master race. Don’t need elves.
The issue would then be that all of them would look/feel empty.
Spreading out a server’s population makes for a ‘dead’ world.
I’m not a high elf enthusiast, but from my point of view the Blood Elves are ‘edgy’ and ‘sort of evil’. That’s just not the fantasy that fits ‘high elves’.
Blood elves are kinda evil elves among the horde very oportunistic too.
Also high elves were part of the alliance in form of npc since vanila using the night elf rig.
Different culture not to mention there are 2 high elf factions leaders aleria and veresa with her silver covenants.
Thats why alliance preffers high elves.
High elves and humans have history of long loyal partnership since the troll wars. But one racist dickhead comes and ohh noo humans.
Also time and time horde sweeps blood elves under the rug but they still turn out to be the most loyal hordies ever!
I still dont get how blood elves hate the modern alliance the one that had nothing to do with arthas.
I guess they had to force it somehow so horde gets a pretty race.
Personaly im Happy with the void elves but if there can be another boring version of dwarf race? Then heck why not another elves?
This hasn’t been true since Kaelthas got defeated and the Sunwell was infused with the core of a naaru making it a mix between Light and Arcane The Blood Elves also stood against garrosh.
No, they’re not. Read the Warcraft wiki article that Punyelf linked.
One of the main reasons I play Alliance is because I got fed up of the tribal and aztec themes (in BfA) with Horde. Just wasn’t doing it for me. That’s why I don’t go Blood Elf… I would, if I wasn’t surrounded by stick huts and tribalism all the time in all the hubs. Doesn’t suit the High Elf fantasy for me.
I ‘hate’ the blueberry effect on Void Elves too and I’m not the type to macro in removal of a buff for cosmetic reasons… can’t win.
For me, I’d just love to see High Elves take over Shandaral.
See lots of High Elf Mages, Rangers and Warriors. A large tree, which fits their ancestral theme and a nice city with arcane magic, which fits their current theme.
Well, that’s still their vibe to me. True or not.
Me too.
Paladin, Druid for all races will come, we just need to be patience.
Well that’s kind of how it is now right, the other major cities are empty. Since Orgrimmar and Stormwind have everything like barber, transmog and most storyline are at Org and Storm. If Blizzard let the story line take place in one of the other cities once in while and add barber and transmog for all cities. Those cities wouldn’t be so empty.
Well that was the point with blood elves back before TBC that the Blood elves were Fel addict, power hungry maniacs “Power is power, it’s what we do with it that matters!” (They were all about magic and didn’t matter if the magic was dark (They tried all kinds of magic like Death magic, Blood magic, Fel magic and as we found out, even Void magic) as long as they became powerful so their empire would never fall again and fel was the answer for them). Wow’s version of Dark elf so they fit right in with the Horde. and they wanted to rebuild their Empire and become the masters of the world. I mean like every concept art for Blood elves back before TBC was released was about Fire and Fel. And in my opinion they should have kept the Blood elves like that. It would have kept the High elves and Blood elves diffrent from each other. And at the time Blood elves had more reddish skin due to the expose of fel and the green fel eyes, were as Allliance High elves were more pale almost snow white and as they lost the mana glow in their eyes they got more human like eyes becuase of the mana withdrawal of their mana addiction. But at some point they changed that and made Blood elves “good elves” and the Sunwell was never going to be restored just as Blood elves was never meant to be in the Horde in the first place. Blizzard tried with “Kill two birds with one stone” as they knew Alliance wanted High elves playable and Horde wanted a pretty race to balance the server population. We still kept asking for High elves on the Alliance so Blizzard again did “Kill two birds with one stone” and made the Sunwell patch so they could say “There Alliance, there is your High elves!” Which changed the Blood elves original theme/concept which gave the Blood elves their edgyness that “we” High elf fans never asked for. And now they given that edgyness to the Void elves, hell they basicly are what Blood elves were before and back in TBC before the Sunwell patch but the Void don’t make sense in a Light worship, Tree hugging Alliance. They make more sense to be in the Horde. But now Blizzard is going to Fix that Mistake by making High/Blood elves and Void elves Neutral in Midnight which could have been avoided if they done the “right thing” in the first place. Either not give the Horde an Alliance race as the High elves were already part of the Alliance before TBC just not playable as we could see High elves everywhere in Alliance areas back in Vanilla and Blood elves were hostile towards both Horde and Alliance or kept the Blood elves theme before and begining of TBC which would make the Blood elves distinctive from the High elves. That the Blood elves followed a more darker path but the Alliance High elves tried to go back to how they were back in Warcraft 2.
Well that what we were asking for before but seems in Midnight Silvermoon/Quel’thalas is going to be neutral city. I like the music there in Crystalsong forest, very mystical and lost of arcane magic gone wild and there are arcane wellsthere aswell all over Northrend that can give the High elves that mana source they always been looking for and the west side of Crystalsong forest, the Forlorn woods can be made to look similar to Quel’thalas forest. Those birch trees just need to be infused with mana which can be if the Leylines in Crystalsong forest gets fixed. And with the Blue dragonflight moved on to the Dragon isles, who will keep the arcane wells thee protected. If the Alliance High elves aka Silver Covenant talked to Kalecgos that they could keep an eye on the wells also help Blue dragon that guards the Nexus to protect the Nexus in exchange to be given accces to the arcane wells. Or simply make Dalaran fully Alliance city that is Human/Elven city that is symbol of Human and Elven Unity that dates back to the Arathi Empire (Long before Alliance even existed) and that has been for 1000s of years which Blizzard could have given the Alliance High elves as their Home city. However Blizzard doesn’t seem they going to do that and instead just make Silvermoon neutral but something is going to happen Crystalsong forest considering the Blue dragon flight quest was to help the Shandaral Highborne elves to move/pass on to the Shadowlands so something is going to happen there in The Last Titan expansion.
Wonder when they fix the forum bug so I can log in with my Retail character instead of this unused Classic character that I only made for the frostwyrm flying mount.
Horde is not my thing (for my or the guild I’m in), so playing Blood Elf is a lonely experience surrounded by trolls and orcs.
I’m cautiously optimistic that there will be an addition and/or change to playable elves when Midnight drops, given the tagline about uniting the elven races.
(And there is no such thing as ‘too many elves’!)
I think the real solution is making blood elves neutral faction, and reworking silvermoon to modern graphics. Then they should re-unite with the silver covenant and the other blood elves, who joined the alliance
Well as I said that seems to be Blizzard’s plan for Midnight and if Night elves and Nightborne tag in too, perhaps they will become neutral as they are also a elven tribes so it comes down to the player to choose which faction the player wants their character to fight for. As it seems to be there won’t be Horde vs. Alliance ever again, perhaps smaller splinter faction that does not approve this peace between the Horde and Alliance. Well there still needs to be wars if it still going to be Warcraft. Horde vs. Alliance or both factions against another faction. If Warcraft loses the “War” in War…craft it won’t be the same game. Sure old enemies become new Allies happen sometimes.
Im pretty sure that is what is going to happen in Midnight. Silver Covenant, Scryers (Kael’thas Blood elves from Outland), Alliance High elves, Void elves, Allerian Stronghold High elves (Auric Sunchaser High elves) Highvale elves etc all coming home to defend the motherland Quel’thalas from the Void Invasion.
I hope the Alliance High elves will have the Night elf voice actors when picking to play High elf in the Alliance. Or else I quess they have to get the old Blood elf voice actors and the void elf voice actors to say “For the Alliance” for Void elves “For the Horde”.
Drederon here and mine is now sorted
Whatever happens to Shandaral - I now can’t see the High Elves as an allied race, migrating there and using it for their own activities. No individuality whatsoever as all Thalassians will now just be Blood Elves + more. This is the consequence of neutral stuff with the core race.
I do love the ideas from the two pictures; but throw in an updated Shandaral with Highborne buildings, mixed with High Elf buildings and the Quel’dorei have a brilliant settlement.
It varies. I am - or rather was - a huge fan of the Blood Elves. Yet what we ended up getting in this game never really lived up to how they were depicted back in Warcraft 3. It doesn’t help that Kael’thas was unceremoniously corrupted and killed off despite being the most iconic figure associated with the race at the time.
Jaina is still around. Tyrande is still around. Sylvanas is still around. Thrall is still around.
I despise both the Horde and the Alliance as organisations. My interest in the setting is directly tied to the various Elven races and their off-shoots such as the Naga and Satyr. I absolutely believe that the Blood Elves should have been taken in a completely different direction, closer to the Illidari - who ended up joining both factions anyway in the end.
I very much liked the way in which Blood Elves embraced dangerous powers in order to prevent their loved ones and homeland from being completely wiped out. It didn’t last long thanks to the ridiculous ‘redemption’ back in the Burning Crusade.
I’d rather see the various Elven races united under a single banner and working to increase Elven power and influence throughout Azeroth instead of playing second fiddle to Orcs and Humans.
Sadly other MMO’s aren’t much better. FFXIV’s Elves have awkward animations and proportions. The Altmer of ESO were turned into villains for not wanting their homeland to be invaded by outsiders…
I’m hoping Ashes of Creation delivers on providing a better experience for Elf enjoyers.
I think we just have to rely on our own RP to have more badass Blood Elves
Take my Hunter; she uses a combination of Arcane and Fel infused arrows. She isn’t your typical Farstrider / LOTR Archer Elf.
She was part of the Sunfury and Sunhawk Rangers, before travelling back to Quel’Thalas.
I know, I know there will be something else going to happen there in Crystalsong forest in The Last Titan. But it will be Interesting in Midnight…well all 3 of the expansions will be Interesting.
Well that’s they going to do, its the only way to save their race is to unite instead of being split into smaller factions. They still fight for Horde or Alliance depending on which faction they believe in. And also for Lor’themar to become King even if he dosent want to become King but I bet that’s what he talked about with Kael’thas in Shadowlands.
That’s what made the Blood elves bad a… back in TBC until Sunwell patch. And as I said we High elf fans did not ask for that, we ask for the High elves that was still loyal and still fighting for the Alliance to become playable. For the Blood elves to be more imperial and High elves to be the old fantasy kingdom of elves. Its was Blizzard decision to make the Blood elves move away from their original theme in TBC towards what it is today.
Well in Eso the villans jumped between races. Tamriel was first inhabited by elves, then Nords came down from Atmora and conquered Skyrim. The Snow elves got pushed below ground and made an alliance with the dwemer (Short beared elves) who later betrayed the Snow elves and made them into slaves. The nords countine their conquest west and conqueered another elven race but instead of making them into slaves the elves become part of their conquers tribe and after mixing between the races they later became Bretons. Well the elves in Elderscrolls was made diffrent from LOTR elves…or are they?? What do the elves in wow and Elderscrolls and LOTR have in common. They want to be isolated and defend against outsiders, they pointy ears and long hair well most of them anyway. So all in all they are pretty similar even if people trying to make them diffrent there still something of Tolkiens elves with them all the time because that how people recognise how an elf look like.
I have Blood elf characters that still is Fel themed like they were back in TBC, the warlock just need the fel book. Trying to have him as a mage playing with fel magic. Im still Alliance main if you were wondering, I just play the Horde side for diffrent story well that was in the past as now both factions have the same story.
Ohh so it is now.
Well, they brought back the Man’ari Eredar as a playable faction for the Draenei.
Hopefully, they bring in Felblood Elf / Illidari Demon Hunter features for the Blood Elves as well (mind you, it would be odd to see a Felblood Elf Holy Priest / Holy Paladin running around…but we’ve got that with the Man’ari so…)
Well we have Void elf “Holy” Priest and Lightforged “Shadow” priest running around soo…well like the Man’ari the felblood elves could be redeemed as well as the felblood orcs from Outland and could be the felblood orcs will come to Azeroth soon as Outland is tearing it self apart as well as any other race from there. Hope they remember the animals there needs rescue aswell.
Yeah I got a Man’ari Eredar Warlock too.
