Oh I thought it was the same as the timewalking weekly. Still, in that time you could easily finish a +8 with a group of 420s and get the same reward.
Guys, look at OP, check his threads, just ignore him.
Or you do both and get double rewards
OP; you have to continue something in the storyline. idk exactly what, but you should get a heartlevel of 35 for free somewhere. Yours is 21.
That depends on the goal of the group. If the goal is to gear up, then 396 is fine. It’s certainly fine when playing with friends. If the goal is to complete the dungeon within the timer, though, then 396 may or may not be too low. Since you likely have no experience and in addition no gear, it is unlikely someone will invite you to a timed run.
You can address this problem yourself by running a regular mythic dungeon (M0) and obtaining a +2 key. You can then proceed to invite people with 396 gear and see how it goes. Chances are, you will not take the people with a low item level, because there will be applicants with much higher item level. After a while, you will download the raider IO addon and look at the score, because you’ll have gotten tired of people depleting your key in spite of having a sufficient item level.
(And when you try to join +10s and up hosted by other players, you will probably make threads about RIO for a few weeks. )
Why not, though? It’s super fast and you don’t even need a healer. Sure, the same people could do a M+, but that isn’t as quick, you have to be more selective, need consumables, etc. My four dungeons for the weekly quest were: Mechagon (needed to go there anyway) and Freehold/Underrot for the chance of the mount, and AD since it’s super short.
I just found it weird to put that in the group finder, but I rarely play with a group strangers anyway.
It kind of happens only in this week because of the weekly But I just helped out on a discord community to push a +4 key to a +12. More fun than the M0’s.
Dungeons are my thing and always have been, yet it could take hours for me to get accepted for a +10 these days despite being one of the more reliable ‘randoms’ you’ll ever meet. You just have to accept that so long as the pre-requisites are leader-determined (and so long as they have the freedom to pick-n-mix based on whatever preference they please) then most will simply rely on visual indicators, such as ilevel and rio-score, and there will always be someone with more than you.
I’m a KSMaster with 1780 last season and countless videos showing me dunking keys back in Legion - hell, I have videos of our pre-nerf TBC heroic timed runs. Dungeons are what I look forward to most in the game and have been since vanilla. I’m a reliable dungeoneer with solid DPS and know the places like the back of my two-fingered troll-hand and never leave, unless a tank or healer leaves first and I’m certain it still can’t be completed… But none of that will matter because there’s no visual indication of experience outside of RIO clear-times and item-level.
I’ve got a 434 Ret Paladin - not the best geared, but reliably competing (and often beating) other people of similar or higher gear level, yet people also hate Retri-Paladins in keys for some reason despite being useful for pretty much every affix. Hell, I even have CR-Engineering, invis-pots and everything else you could ever need – but if the leader decides that they would much prefer someone who has 5-10il higher, regardless of their skill or experience, then that is their prerogative.
Still, doesn’t make it feel any better when all you want to do is push, have no reliable groups to do it with and thus have to stomach the ‘you’re not good enough’ PuG selection until you get tired of a chat-box full of ‘declined’ and go play/do something else.
So if i’m 440+ ilvl and I dont want to take that 390 player to my runs it’s because I am the one who wants to get carried and not him? That’s some weird way of thinking.
I usually never take people with a so low ilvl not even for m0, for the simple reason that you can get 400+ ilvl with just wqs, events, lfr, benthic gear. Applying to groups with less than that means you are too lazy to do the bare minimum.
OP today is not rly hard to acquire that kind of gear and even higher with all the sources from which you can get it : warfronts, world bosses, low level mythics starting with m0, timewalking, crafted gear from AH, benthic gear from Nazjantar questing. And about getting into the m+ groups through the finder, I have seen that people are mostly requesting there RIO score because a lot of the groups want the smoothest run possible at this point in the expansion they can get, but there are groups which don’t use it ( people there are mostly in the same situation as you that they are starting with that content ) and communities which don’t have high demands for joining their groups.
I for one accept lower geared players as long as they have experience .
My system of value is skill > gear . I like smooth runs even if they are not + 2+3 .
This behaviour is normal everyone want’s to get boosted it’s a known fact ,players will go for the easiest way always that’s what humans do . Having high ilvl compensate for the lack of skill ( they can just stand in “fire” don’t do properly mechanics cause they don’t know them ) .
I want to see that research. There is nothing in me that wants to get boosted.
This is part of a larger problem. The meta gaming people like to do. One of my friends used to be realms leading RIOrated paladin 8with reasonably strong region score too). he is more laid back this season, so he is mere 4-ish now… using his offspec.
Why ? Because the distinctive dislike PUGing (and sometimes even own)-people have for ret paladins and paladins in general. Seems people love to run some monk/druid/2*DH/mage combos a lot. And get perception as if nothing else - or double rogue or whatnot combos.
I think it’s just that people want to get whatever it is that they want. For some, that is collecting the loot as effortlessly and as quickly as possible. For others, it’s the challenge they are after. Or maybe they want a nice, social night doing something with their friends. No doubt there are also some who just want to get boosted for the weekly chest or the score. Probably it’s all of these for everyone, just at different times, at least the first three.
If I tackle a +15 or a +16 in a week with difficult affixes, I don’t do it for the loot, but for doing something that is challenging me (15/16 is where my “cap” is right now). If I go to a +12 or +13 with friends where nothing drops for me, I do it because I enjoy doing something with my friends. If I join a +10 PUG for a dungeon because I want something from that dungeon, it’s for the loot.
The patterns are pretty clear, everyone asks for higher rio and higher ilvl then they have in 90% of the runs . u need more proof ?
I have run multiple 4-7 keys last week on my 435 char with 1000+ rio. Need more proof?
They expect you to have made some effort first on gearing your character. With the catch up gear in Nazjatar, weekly quest, emissaries rewards etc you can easily bring your character up to a level around 410.
For example I didn’t even bother much on my LF Draenei and she’s 407. I was only farming the Bee mount, I went to Nazjatar, got my 385s and upgraded them to 400, did the odd world boss, I only played her for a few days while I farmed the mount.
If you want to be a 396 tank starting Mythic plus then you may need to start listing your own groups. There is nothing to stop you being the master of your own groups
Cause they are morons and there should be soloq. Not just lfg.
hahahahaha you call that proof?
Why not? I can take you if you have good io or good ilvl for a 10-12 because I can. Why would I pick you with your 400 ilvl if i have a 440 guy in queue? If i see a 2k scored guy with 420 ilvl trying to join my 10 I’m gonna pick him over a 440 600 scored rogue or w/e. I’m not gonna pick a guy with no score or no gear if I don’t feel like giving somebody a free boost. Yesterday I boosted a guy in my group to a 17 for free, starting from his 13. I see it as a problem though, because carrying incompetent people to high keys only makes the high keys a cringefest when you have a rogue that doesn’t know how to open cages without pulling or how to shoot a cannon or how to tricks and shroud. You get a guy that is in your 18-19 unable to do things he was supposed to learn when he was doing 10s 5-8 months ago.
