I kind of like that they didn’t just totally change his persona that we encountered in Mists of Pandaria, where all he wanted was peace.
He’s no Varian though, that man is missed.

Oh I definitely miss Varian but I think Anduin is well on his way to carry on his legacy just fine. It was also quite nice to see the influence he had over Varian that changed him for the better. From hot head to composed King!
People have a pretty weird view on what is considered strength.
Anduin is very similar to what Thrall/Cairne/Jaina were in WC3. Almost to the point where I feel like he’s a quota/role filler sometimes.
Any person in the game is only as strong as the writers need them to be.
He is possessed by the Jailor, and somehow managed to stab The Archon, who is supposed to be a god-like being, comparable to the titans. She is connected to Bastion, yet couldn’t sense the Jailers presence within it.
Jaina suddenly can’t teleport over to Anduin when he steals the Winter Queen’s key, hidden inside the Heart of the Forest. Yet during the Maw introductory questline, she can teleport an entire group of people to a nearby cave.
The pantheon of death (Winter Queen, Archon etc) are supposed to be on the same level of the Titan’s, which means they should hold the same power that Sargeras holds for example. Which means Anduin was able to incapacitate a being of that much power. The same with Sylvanas thinking she can take on the Winter Queen.
Tyrande was always a master archer, yet she is suddenly proficient in using glaives. Same for Sylvanas and her rogue like daggers.
They’re always as powerful as the writers need them to be to fit the narrative. Same with the titans. They’re always as weak as the writers need them to be.
And that, kids, is how story telling works. No matter what game or franchise.
looks at Shepard surviving a Reaper attack but fails to defeat Kai Leng in the first encounter on Thessia
Which raises the question of who could possibly teach her some moves with glaives while malfurion was druid napping…
Hmm… :^)
Anduin is the only person in the entire WoW universe who doesn’t cower in fear at the sight of Sylvanas. He’s an absolute chad.
