Can you ask a friend to help you finish some quests that drop gear, once you’ve replaced more than half with appropriate for your level you are good to go.
does the gear update text reappear If I dont log in for a time?
Yes if you leave the character for 60 days.
Yeah, I’m honestly really surprised that anyone gets kicked from a levelling dungeon for low damage. The last few characters I’ve levelling, I do practically no damage as dps because I spend most of my time running after the tank and looting the stuff they’ve killed before I even got there.
I have had to vote no on vote kicks for low damage. Like everything was meleed down before the poor lock got to cast and every pack was the same. Boss fights were different.
Some people have no common sense
If the person is actually playing and staying with the group, not afking, everything is dying. Then what is the issue.
It totally grinds my gears when people in levelling dungeons start a vote kick for “bad player” type reasons.
The whole point of levelling is to learn how to play the game and that takes time if you are a new or returning player.
For the OP, as well as gear inflation two stat squishes and a level squish to contend with - one of the major player complaints at the start of BfA (which followed Legion) was the way that the developers just deleted a large chunk of the character progression we enjoyed in Legion.
Your expectation that your gear would not be closer to L1 starter gear than it is to L70 gear is fairly reasonable but sadly not how the game has played out over the last 4-5 years.
Fortunately levelling gear is a bit of a fire hose between 50->70 (especially if you do 50->60 in the BfA or SL questing zones) so it’s not hard to close the gap.
It’s a bit of a problem that players see dungeons as the ultimate way to level. I think the experience incentives on them is a bit too much.
I don’t want leveling dungeons to be empty because nobody wants to do them, but I definitely don’t want the kind of players who can’t be considerate to others in dungeons.
I think the problem for players like me is that levelling is just a dull chore. None of it is new, it’s just a repeat and although the dungeons are repetitive too it’s far more satisfying to just blast through a few so now and then and get the XP.
I do wish we could queue for all dungeons though instead of being stuck in an expansion which only offers to expand to others if you’re having a long wait.
People all have their preferred ways to level, I don’t see anything wrong with that.
I sometimes wonder if there should be a separate queue for speed levelling.
A lot of the issues I see is different players with different goals/expectations getting mad at each other. It’s not limited to levelling but I think wow does a bad job of making sure matchmade and Ad hoc groups share the same expectations and that leads to a lot of the toxic behaviours we call experience sometimes.
While games like LoL have their own reputations for toxicity in those games for the most part everyone joing a group knows what they have signed up for.
It would make queues even longer.
I don’t care about speedrunning a dungeon or not. I go with the pace the tank sets usually.
I’d love a queue for ‘slow’. I’ll happily embrace the newbs and people new to roles and what not, I don’t mind anyway, and at least it wouldn’t feel like a non stop sprint through a dungeon. I hate it, ugh.
Yeah there’s definately a bit of a tension between splitting the playerbase for our own good and any split making it harder to get groups.
I’m not sure it’s really a solvable problem for a game designed to be a diverse playstyle wise as wow. Unless they decide to go the same route a Square does with 14 and just banhammer the toxic folks until they are too scared to even look at their tank and healer the wrong way.
Yeah it’s most likely not a realistic solution by now. I would have loved if they had tried it years back tho, when there were still more players, during Legion or so.
You have 3 options on how to fix that :
1: AH
2: Crafting with Relic of the Past
3: (my favorite) doing low level raids and mythics . You are 52 . Go on Draenor and run some raids/mythics and you will get neat gear as good as your leveling one + cool transmogs . Mobs have almost no chance to kill you and you will do tons of damage . Pretty sure legion will work too and you might even be able to push BFA (though here it will give you some challenge and raids are not doable ).
This ain’t news. The biggest issue with leveling dungeons. Your just zerging everything down and not learning the class
For starters Legion is a very old expansion by today’s standards and where gear is concerned, there have been level, gear score and overall performance squishes. What was once current is clearly not now.
I would recommend levelling through some quests, get some gear or cheap current gear for your level on the auction house. Once you hit level 70, it is easy to gear to a good ilvl from world events, heroics and then early Mythics.
Don’t know if anyone has suggested this, (didn’t want to go through the whole thread), but ehm…
Use heirloom gear?
A level squish happened so scaling is all over the place with the lower level gear
Heirloom gear just costs a lot of gold to solve such a problem.
