You know, looking at Horror games these days, I really ask myself the same question. Seems you just have to put Zombies into a shooter and you can call yourself a Horror game these days…
There is no Horror in Modern wow compared to the older expansions 
scolomance was quite more creepy before the remake. Or how about all the hung people in the deep dungeons of Karazhan.
There’s a spot in the old - never visited part of Blackrock Depts, where a head of an abomonation is placed on a table. The eye still looks around… as in twisting and turning.
Wrath was the (cool) exception, but that was mostly just in NPC design. You don’t find so many actual creepy spots or details as you do in the old, dark, and almost forgotten parts of the classic zones 
- I mean, even the Kids in Goldshire is creept at a specific time of the day
I thought the game was quite scary when I was a kid. That was during vanilla/TBC though, mobs could actually kill you back then…

The only scary thing I found in WoW is NE ugliness.
Wow is not scary, its cute.
