World of Warcraft is way too expensive

Xbox game pass? :slightly_smiling_face: But that’s not even the point imo. I wouldn’t mind paying a lot (relatively to other games, gaming is a pretty cheap hobby after all) if I wouldn’t have the feeling that the company just wants to milk me. Not getting any content for almost a year for that price isn’t acceptable. It’s not like we’re talking about an indie company or a niche game here, we’re talking about a game which made far more money than any movie in history ever. But it’s not enough, it’ll never be enough. Employees are underpaid or get fired (in the middle of a pandemic?), the content feels like it’s designed to make people play the game for as long as possible while putting minimal effort into it and the CEO is one of the most overpaid persons in the world. I think this is extremely disappointing overall.

So, starbucks is more expensive then WoW daily, food for thought.

Starbucks is a luxury :stuck_out_tongue:

13€/ month, that’s not even close to the average money people spend during a weekend.

Expansion with normal edition is 45€ every 2 years, when you compare it to other big titles, it’s cheap.

In-game transactions are cosmetic. You don’t have to spend money there in order to progress in the game, therefore it’s irrelevant. Not that i like that it exists but it also doesn’t make WoW expensive for those who just decide to not use it.

You do realize that plenty of games nowadays have microtransactions for cosmetics, right? It certainly doesn’t make games better, but it doesn’t ruin them either. You should also care less about what other people spend their money on, it’s not your business.

If you would spend at least 1 minute thinking about it, you would realize that it will never happen. They might have bad ideas, but they never tied max level character progression to the ingame shop and they never will. That’s some private server bs and those servers barely have a few hundred players at best.

Sofar only cosmetic stuff put on the shop.

Why so mad?

Start to cry when they put powerup items.

It was ofc a bait.

In 2020 I spent 2 x 6 months subscription + epic edition of BfA (which includes 1 free month)

Next year I will spend 2 x 6 months subscription and probably a 3 month subscription for a self RAF account (giving an extra free month).

That’s 371 euros for 26 months covering approx the lifespan of one expansion.

That is 47 Eurocents per day - quite clearly not expensive.

If you start adding in game services and shop expenses and tokens it can definitely ramp up but even with that it stays reasonable.

You have a choice in that case. Stop playin.
Isnt a mandatory lifecare system: is a game.

What about the wow token that rich people spam sell and they become rich in game too? And they can buy gear= power from ah

I hope they do so soon. You can already buy them through the token and boosts, just put them in the shop already and we would really see what’s going on, instead of hiding it in an “in-game transaction between players”.
It’s already here, and with things like the aotc achievement or rio score being buyable it won’t be long until it will be required to buy it to find any groups to play with at all.

See it this way. All these sevices and in game shop crap are expensive for what they are YET A LOT of players buy into that :poop:
This gives Blizz no reason to change, in fact they will only add garbage to it.

The player base/community is the biggest cancer to the game.

the in game transactions devalue the content we already pay for especially since they often look better then what is available in the game.

If the game is too expensive to you then just don’t buy it and play something else?
WoW is not food or some vital medicine which we simply MUST have.

Regarding the transmog drama. People who don’t like it, won’t buy it. Those who like the transmog will buy it. And no “random internet Joe’s whining on the forums” will change their minds on what they do with their own real life money.

good value I say, and the transmog in shop came free to me as i buy 6month sub. By the way I think it is horrible

they dont really

but that would work against your argument

I also think in a video game like wow, we should be able to get everything in the game and not by simply buying it.
Every collector would like to get what he wants by himself.

I hope there will not be real gear to buy in the future
